What are NOUNS ?

A noun is a name of person, place, animal or thing. Nouns

Naming words are called nouns. E.g. Ram, Delhi,

school, lion, sparrow books, phone etc

Q.I Underline the naming words (nouns) in the given sentences:-

5. I have a book and a pencil. What are Proper nouns?

Note : A proper name is the name of a particular person, place,

animal or thing. They always begin with a capital letter.
E.g. The name of my school is Seven Square Academy

What are Common nouns?

Note : A general name given to any person, place, animal or thing is a common noun. A common noun
does not begin with a capital letter (.Eg. flowers , fruit , doctor ,park, dog etc.)
E.g: My aunt lives in New Jersey.
