STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

Problem:This study aimed to know the effects of Facebook Usage on Grade

12 Senior High Students in Columban College Inc. Olongapo City.

Its attempts to following questions.

1.Why do people need website to socialize?

2.Is Facebook an efficient social capitalization tool?

3.Is the use of Facebook beneficial for students,or does it simply distract them?

4.Are there negative effects of the Facebook on students behavior and performance?

5.What’s with Facebook ,why are some of the students are getting addicted to it?

6.What the effect of this social networking site on their grades?

7.What does Facebook bring to the lives of the students ?

8.Why are the students easily hooked to Facebook?

9.How does Facebook affect the life of a student?

 VI. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This study about the effects of Facebook Usage on Grade 12 Senior High

students in Columban College Inc. Olongapo City .The students will more aware of the

negative side effects of abusing use of Facebook to be able to assess themselves as to

their academic performances and behavior will affected and how to deal with them .
 VII. SCOPE AND LIMITATION

This study is limited on the effects on the Gradce 12 Senior High students

in Columban College Inc Olongapo City Campus.This study focused only to Grade 12

students who are using Facebook application ,are the subject of the investigation and

nothing more.

VIII. HYPHOTHESIS

There is no significant of the use of Facebook to the academic performances.

 DEFINITION OF TERMS

Facebook-that allows registered users to create profiles,upload photo and video,send

video,send messages and keep in touch with friends, family and colleagues.The site

which available in 101 different languages,include public features.Also referred to as ,

“FB” to its common users.

Mobile device-that perform many of the functions of a computer, typically having a

touchscreen interface,internet access,and an operating system capable of running down-

loaded applications.

Login/Logout-Signing in and gaining access to a network server,Web server or a

computer and disconnecting to it.

 X. METHODOLOGY
This chapter presents the method to be used , the setting of the study

the respondents of the study ,the research instrument and data gathering procedure to be

used for the research.

A.RESEARCH METHOD USED :

This study is a descriptive design.Using survey questionares we

gather some information for this research.

B.SETTING OF THE STUDY:

The Grade 12 students of Columban College Inc. Olongapo City

are the setting of the study.It has total population of student subdivided men and women.

This study will particularly on Grade 12 Senior High students.

C.RESPONDENTS OF THE STUDY

This research utilizes the 29 students of Grade 12 senior high

students of Columban College men and women respondents answered the survey

questionares.
 All the detailed data and information from the survey questionnaire

were collectively garhered from the student respondent.

D.RESEARCH INSTRUMENT:

The instruments used in research is survey questionaires.The questionaires

will be designed in a way that it shall meet the main objective of the study which is to

determines the effect of the usage of Facebook to the academic performances of the

selected students to be tallied and assessed accordingly.

E.DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE

We asked permission from the principal of the Columban College Inc.

Olongapo City Campus to conduct research.

we personally submitted the questionaires and parental consent to the respondents and

assure them to confidentiality to be able to obtain honesty in the respondents answers.
