AN ACT AMENDING CERTAIN SECTIONS OF RA 10068 OR THE
ORGANIC AGRICULTURE ACT OF 2 0 1 0

Brief Description of the Bill:

To promote, propagate, develop further and implement the practice of organic
FARMING AND OTHER SUSTAINABLE agriculture PRACTICES in the Philippines
that will cumulatively condition and enrich the fertility of the soil, increase farm
productivity AND FARMERS' INCOMES, reduce pollution and Destruction of the
environment, prevent the depletion of natural resources, further protect the health of
farmers, consumers, and general public, save on imported farm inputs AND
PROMOTE FOOR SELF- SUFFICIENCY. Towards this end, a comprehensive
program for the promotion of community-based organic agriculture system, which
include, among others, farmer-produces purely organic fertilizers such as compost,
BIO-PESTICIDES and other farm inputs, together with a Nationwide educational and
promotional campaign for their use and processing, SHALL BE ESTABLISHED.
LIKEWISE, A NATIONWIDE EDUCATIONAL AND AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
AMONG CONSUMERS ON THE BENEFITS OF CONSUMIMG ORGANIC
PRODUCTS TO BOOST LOCAL PRODUCTION OF ORGANIC FOOD AND NON-
FOOD PRODUCTS, as well as adaption of organic agricultural system as a viable
alternative shall be undertaken.

General Comment:
It was a nice bill, it talks about how not to hurt our environment, the consumer and
the farmers themselves. For the farmers, It makes it more cheaper also because
they will use organic pesticides, this will benefit the farmers a lot because the
production is high and it doesn’t cost to much, For the consumers it will be very
beneficial to them because the food that they will eat will be safe, it will be pesticide-
free, and they will not worry on what fertilizer they put on the product, for the
environment of course we all know that pesticides also put our environment in
danger, and with this it will lessen the harm that it can cause on our environment, the
environment will now be different from what it used to be because of this Bill. Overall
it was a good idea that they realize about this one, and I finally can’t wait for this to
be implemented to all farmers.

Specific Comments:
In the Bill it self it will only benefit the people who use this organic pesticides and
etc., They will also only the one who will receive incentives from the government.
With this I suggest that they will held a seminar for all the farmers Nationwide for
them to know what is the best it they will get if they try to use the organic farming,
what it will give to the farmers, the consumer and also the environment, for them to
be aware that there’s a bill like this.
