Teen Pregnancy Issue of Teenage

INTRODUCTION

Teenager is a middle stage of adolescence where they become, matured

enough, lazy and getting into trouble.

For the past years in our country, early pregnancy is very rampant especially
to teens aged 15 to 18 years old. The reason of it is the curiosity, experimentation
and the irresponsible parenting. We conducted a petition for this issue. We aim to
lessen and eventually stop the high rate of early pregnancy especially here in our
school. We suggested that every public and private schools here in the city should
have at least 1 hour class to teach them sex education.

We expected that through this students have at least background knowledge

about this issue and make them realize that being an unprepared parent in the
future can make a failure in their lives. We also aim to make every student aware
of what really is the meaning of sex.

This issue should have given more attention because of the importance of
the future of every child. We make this not only to inform every young citizen but
also to help them make the right decisions on their lives.

RATIONALE

In the Philippines, according to the 2002 Young Adult Fertility and

Sexuality Study by the University of the Philippines Population Institute (Uppi)
and the Demographic Research and Development Foundation, 26% percent of our
Filipino youth nationwide from ages 15 to 25 admitted to having a premarital sex
experience. What’s worse is that 38 percent of our youth are already in a live-in
arrangement.
