Welcome to International Offshore Development Congress (IODC) 2019

On behalf of the IODC 2019 Advisory and Technical committees, it gives me great pleasure to invite you all
to join us in Abu Dhabi, UAE for the inaugural International Offshore Development Congress (IODC 2019)
which is set to be held annually in GCC and will be the region’s premier event dedicated to the offshore
industry.

The Congress is set to be the premier meeting place for NOC’s, IOC’s as well as all other stakeholders and
interested parties of the relevant sectors related to Oil and Gas offshore development.We are confident that
IODC 2019 will be a unique event which will provide wide opportunities to address current challenges,
review recent developments and identify future opportunities to advance and collaborate as industry.

We have lined up a high-quality set of keynote Speakers, Panel and Technical sessions that address a broad
range of topics, developments, and challenges. With special focus on current and new technology, Human

ABOUT THE CONGRESS
The 1st International Offshore Development Congress (IODC) 2019 is set to be held annually in GCC and will be the region’s
premier event dedicated to the offshore industry. The event is organized by Arab Association of Petroleum Professionals (AAPP) & Maarefah
Energy and Advisory and Technical Committees which will take place from 28 - 29 April 2019 at the Jumeirah Etihad Towers Hotel, Abu
Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In keeping with the theme, “Delivering the Future Together to Meet Expectations” industry figures & key
experts in the relevant fields will speak at the congress Technical and Panel Sessions.

IODC 2019 is the premier meeting place for Oil & Gas companies, stakeholders and interested parties of the relevant sectors related to
offshore development. This unique gathering promotes discussion, debate and education for engineers, technical experts and industry
leaders ensuring topical and current challenges are addressed. In addition, the congress will comprehensively examine regional &
international offshore developments from a specialized perspective whilst emphasizing our commitment to energy and the environment.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZERS

ARAB ASSOCIATION OF PETROLEUM PROFESSIONALS (AAPP)

The Arab Association for Petroleum Professionals (AAPP) has been established to help professionals in the oil and gas industry in
the Middle East and the world to Connect, Network and Collaborate (CNC) to tackle major challenges facing the industry.
The association was established in 2016 in the Middle East and is a growing community for professionals working in the oil and gas industry.
The association prides itself for being an integrated community that gathers all professionals in the industry under one roof.
AAPP helps the oil and gas professional community in the following areas:
• Capability Development: AAPP helps individuals and companies develop both soft and technical skills of their professional staff

networking sessions, we aim to build and strengthen communication channels between the energy experts in the region to help them tackle
major issues, explore new opportunities, develop their careers, and spread innovation within the region. These unique events will also act as
a regional platform for key decision makers, experts to network and exchange views, strategies, expertise and knowledge sharing platforms.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

DEADLINE FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

The deadline for submission of Abstracts is 25th January 2019.

FORMAT OF ABSTRACTS

• Title of the abstract must be in sentence case.The title must represent the abstract content.

• Provide your full name, degree, institution, address, telephone number and email address.
(Email address of the main author/presenter).

• Abstracts must be written in English, and consist of plain text only, of 300 – 400 words.
Essentially the abstract should be a brief summary (or an ‘abstract’) of the proposed paper or poster.

• Each Abstract should be original in nature and cover some aspect of the program topics detailed in
this Call for Papers. Abstracts will be evaluated and scored for quality, credibility, originality and
general interest.

• Overt product advertising or company publicity within an Abstract (or the subsequent paper) is not
permissible and will be cause for rejection of the submission.

• A short biography of 150 words of the main author/presenter must be included along with abstract.

• Abstract will be reviewed by the congress Technical Committee and you will receive an e-mail
notification within 24-48 hours of abstract submission.
