SISHEN SOUTH PROJECT ENGINEERING SPECIFICATION Doc No: K0001-A430-M-SPC-0011 Page 3 of 6 METALLIC WEAR LINERS Rev No: 02 14Jul08 | Kumaa 1 MECHANICAL PROPERTIES The metallic abrasive and impact wear liners shall typically be low carbon, low alloy, roller quenched tempered steel, however, it will not necessarily be limited to carbon steel ‘As a minimum, the material shall conform to the following mechanical properties: (a) Yield strength > 1600 MPa (0) Elongation (50 mm test sample) < 16% (0) _Brinell hardness number > 450 (d) Impact resistance (Charpy V.Notch) > 50 Joules at ambient Temperature (e) Material must be weldable (f) Drilling or punching of the material must be possible. (9) ¢ (h) Typical liner material shall be VRNS0O or equivalent. Material shall be free from laminations. 2 LINER PLATES - SHAPES AND SIZES (2) _ Liner plates shall preferably be square, rectangular or triangular. (6) No non-standard liner shapes shall be used to line any square, rectangular, triangular, rhomboidal or trapezoidal area. (©) Non-standard liner shapes required for lining of irregular polygonal areas, areas with curved boundaries or areas with curved surfaces shall be submitted to the Project Manager for approval prior to fabrication. (2) Liner plates shall be sized such that the maximum area is covered with a single plate, but the average mass of single plates shall not exceed 25 kg (e) The thickness of liner plates for each chute face shall be as specified on the detailed chute drawing. Typical thicknesses are 12mm, 16mm, 25mm and even thicker on high wear! high impact areas. (f) Preference shall be given to the use of square liners in all positions. Where the liner is only partly immersed in the material flowstream, rotation of the liner through 90° or 180° will enable all edged or comers to be used as wear area. 3 _ FIXING IN POSITION (a) Liner plates shall preferably not have less than two fixing bolts per plate. (b) Fixing to chutes shall generally be with “High wear resistant” M20 countersunk Nib-Head bolts.
