Pennsylvania benefits for food stamps are available to qualified
residents who are having financial difficulties, and who may not be
able to provide adequate nourishment for themselves or for their
families. In PA, the official name for the food stamp program is
SNAP (Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program). There are
specific eligibility requirements for food stamps in Pennsylvania
(including income, residency and citizenship qualifications), and
potential beneficiaries are encouraged
to review the list prior to applying for
SNAP assistance. The Centre County
Assistance Office (CAO) oversees the
Pennsylvania SNAP application process,
and approves or denies applicants
based on their submissions.
