The Pulse – Quarterly 2019 Newsletter
Message from our
Executive Director, Sharifa Gomez
Happy Spring!
As we close out the first quarter of 2019, our local chapter has held many relevant HR
events (Chapter Meetings, Legal Academy, Special Interest Groups (SIGs) etc). This new
year allows us to have an opportunity to focus on providing more celebratory events (our
upcoming 40th NOVA SHRM Anniversary and 21st MentorHR event), social networking
events and updates to ensure our membership population are ready for the changing
market in 2019 and beyond.
If you would like to share an update on how NOVA SHRM has helped in your
professional journey, please be sure to reach out to us directly here.

Tackle These Workplace Challenges in 2019
Employers have an increasing number of situations to respond to in 2019, as workplace
culture and issues continue to change. A few of the main concerns include the rising cost
of employer-provided health care, a job market that makes it difficult to attract and
retain top talent, and the increasing need to demonstrate positive social practices.
