Variable Speed Pumping

• As control valves modulate, the differential pressure across supply and
return lines rises sending signal to VFD to modulate pump speed
• Operating point moves along system curve to new rpm line
(points A - B - C)
• According to the pump affinity laws the energy savings
is a cubed function of the ratio of the pump speeds

Pump Selection Process
