Ans. Interpersonal relationship is a close acquaintance or association between two or
more people. Interpersonal relationship can also be defined as the social association,
connection or affiliation between two or more people. They can be brief or enduring. We
experience a variety of interpersonal relationship on a daily basis with family, friends,
significant others and people at our workplace. Interpersonal relationship is important
because it enhances respect and regards, it ensures common goal, interdependence and
transparency amongst individuals.
2. Why is empathy important to become an effective individual?
Ans. Firstly, what is empathy? Empathy is, at its simplest awareness of the feelings and
emotions of other people. It is a key element of emotional intelligence, the link between
self and others, because it is what we as individuals understand what others are
experiencing, as if we were feeling it ourselves.
And so that’s why empathy is important. We can’t survive in this world on our own
we need people, as friends, as partners, and so we need to understand them so that they
can understand us.
An effective individual is not someone who has achieved everything in his life. But
is someone who has people who know him, who has empathy for others, who has known
others pain like his and who has made someone smile.
An effective individual is someone who understands relations and its importance;
people and their weakness as well as feelings and ideal responses.
3. Methods to improve relationship with others and what is your unique way to
establish good interpersonal relationship with others?
Ans. The methods to improve relationship with others area:
i. ACTIVELY LISTEN:
No matter who it is, but if they are sharing something they are going to want
to know that you are listening, really listening, and not rehearsing what you have
to say next. In fact, people want to feel they are being heard, even more than they
want you to agree with them.

ii. EXPRESS YOURSELF:

Honesty is the key to building trust in any relationship, and learning how to
express honestly your feelings and opinion in a tactful manner can improve your
interpersonal skills. An interpersonal relationship where one person continually
takes advantage of the other is unhealthy and potentially emotionally damaging.
Instead of making others mad with your refusal, you just might earn their respect
instead.
iii. GIVE GENEROUSLY:
Putting others before yourself can be effective when it comes to improving your
interpersonal relationships. Look for ways you can give your time or skills to help
others without endangering your emotional well-being or health by over-
committing yourself.

iv. SHOW RESPECT:

A little respect can go a long way when it comes to building up interpersonal
relationships. Try to see the good in those around you rather than focusing on the
bad. Show respect by asking for opinions, honouring personal space and
boundaries and by never taking your loved ones for granted.
The unique way through which I improve my interpersonal relationship is quite simple and
basic, the thing which people need to put in any relationship is understanding. The basic yet
important way to improve any relation is faith and understanding, think about times when
you are busy and people won’t just listen and question you for not giving time, and
somewhere, somehow you have done that too but you feel irritated when people do the same,
so yes understanding, understanding that people are engaged in some other stuffs,
understanding, that they aren’t ignoring you is the most important way of improving
interpersonal relationship.
