“Unemployment and Public Policy: Socio-economic Impacts in Bangladesh”

Abstract:

Unemployment is a damaging culprit in developing countries by its socio- economic impacts.

Most of the people in Southeast Asian countries, African countries and some of Latin American
countries are enjoying jobless by getting assistances from developed countries, international
donor agencies, by involving terrorisms, drug addictions, smugglings and by creating
environmental hazards from bearing fatal diseases and polluting the world. On the other hand,
Developed countries and international donor agencies are expressing and creating international
status or images by giving assistances (e.g., foods, shelters, medicines, etc.). A new model can be
developed named as ‘Own-employed by own-self’ (OMOS) for generating employment. The
study will seek answers how and why unemployment is a curse (remaining jobless forever) in
developing countries from their birth in the world. The study will provide suggestions and
practicable measures for the future prospects of employment-generation by using ‘Own-
employed by own-self’ (OMOS) model.

Brief Sample of ‘Own-employed by own-self’ (OMOS) Model:

OMOS Model can be defined as ‘the process of cost-benefit analysis of the socioeconomic
impacts of unemployment and reducing social and economic inequality through technological
and financial supports by developed countries and international donor agencies’. Before giving a

Note: [Literature Review, Purpose of the Research, Research Questions, Hypothesis and
Methodology, etc. I didn’t mention here directly because of OMOS Model that will be
developed under your supervision by focusing on ‘Unemployment and Socio-economic
Impacts in Developing Countries’. I am very much interested to do such kind of research
under your consideration as a Research assistant.]
