KREOS
Technical Qualities

KREOS by OIKOS is an interior decorative plaster based on acrylic resins in water dispersion and selec-
ted fillers. Thanks to its composition the product remains soft to touch and easy to work with. It is able to
produce classic decorations or modern designs using the architect’s fantasy and the ability of the decorat-
or with the right tool: a scratch pad, a tool for cor du roy effect, a steel trowel, a plastic trowel, a marine
sponge, a bristle pad and a brush, to allow a whole series of effects in various colours and styles, adapt -
ing the decoration to perfectly suit the setting to be decorated. KREOS is abrasion resistant, vapour per-
meable, has a low odour level, is non-inflammable and is friendly to both humans and the environment.

Ideal Use

Decoration of interior walls.

Surface Preparation

Clean the surface to be coated, removing any loose or crumbling parts. In the case of old or powdering
surfaces it is advised to apply a coat of sealer such as NEOFIX or CRILUX by OIKOS. In the case of
rough or uneven surfaces it is advised to first screed surfaces using PASTE SCREED FOR WALLS by
OIKOS. Apply then a coat of the primer IL PRIMER by OIKOS.

Application Method

Evenly apply Kreos onto the wall using a medium hair roller. Before the product dries, proceed to work
the product using the necessary tools for the desired effect

Finish

KREOS is itself a decorative finish. It can however also be further enhanced by the application of other
decorative products on top to give different finishes and effects. In this case once dry, proceed with the
decoration of the surface using the products indicated: Veldecor, Pallas, Multidecor, Ottocento, Duca di
Venezia, Imperium and Ultrasaten by OIKOS. It is also possible to achieve a rustic style finish with an
special Antique application technique.

To obtain a finish with sparking reflections it is possible to mix the additive Decorglitter by Oikos into the
product.

Dilution: Ready to use, max 5% drinkable water.

Indicative yield: 3 ÷ 4 m2/l depending on the surface and the effect desired.
Application tools: TOOL FOR COR-DU-ROY, PLASTIC TROWEL, ROLLER by OIKOS.
Primers and sealers: CRILUX, NEOFIX by Oikos
Base coat: IL PRIMER by Oikos

Viscosity: 18.000 ÷ 23.000 CPS Brookfield (RVT 20 revs/min. a 25°C)
Storage temperature: +2°C ÷ +36°C. Keep from freezing
Fire reaction: Negative when applied on a non inflammable surface, water based material with
dry thickness of less than 0,600 mm
Permeability to water
vapour: 0,22 m (max allowed limit 2 m, DIN 52 615)
Resistance to washing: Resistance to washing: conforms to the norm DIN 53 778, resists to more than
1.000 abrasive cycles.
Resistance to abrasion: Resistance to abrasion: conforms to the norm DIN 53 778, resistance to more than
5.000 abrasive cycles.

Toxicological Data

The product is free of heavy metals such as lead or chrome. It does not contain toxic solvents, aromatics
or chlorides. There is no risk of any dangerous polymerisation. The product is considered to be a non-
dangerous substance if used in the technically correct manner. Normal cautionary measures for the
handling of water based paints are advised. No special arrangements are required for the storage,
movement and transportation of the product; the containers, residue, eventual spilt material should be
cleaned up using absorbent inert material such as sand, soil etc. etc. and then disposed of in accordance
with the regional and national regulations in force at that time. Transportation must be carried out in
accordance with international agreements

Specifications

Clean the surface to be decorated, removing any loose material. Proceed to apply a coat of the primer Il
PRIMER by OIKOS. Once dry, apply a decorative interior plaster such as KREOS by OIKOS, using the
tool required for the chosen effect. All must be carried out in accordance with the norms of application, at
a cost of ………… m2. inclusive of materials and labour..
