Precautions on Auger Head

WARNING
Operation
1. When inspecting the auger head installed to the
auger screw, make sure to shut down the Silent
Piler and turn OFF the power of the radio control
transmitter or the cable controller.
2. When replacing the bit on the auger head which is
installed to the auger screw, make sure to turn
OFF the power of the radio control transmitter or
the cable controller and stop the engine of the
power unit.
3. When replacing the bit of the auger head, make
sure your surroundings are safe. When hammering
out the bit, be careful so that the sprung-out bid
does not hit directly a person or an object, or does
not scatter the surrounding objects by hitting them.
4. When repairing the auger head, make sure to
remove the auger head from the auger screw. Set the

Piler, support the Pile Auger with a crane. At the
same time, make sure to lock the Pile Auger using
the casing lock (or casing lock pin) to prevent the
Pile Auger from coming down.
6. Do not use the deformed joint pin for installing the
auger head. After driving in the joint pin securely,
remove soil, sand, etc. and tighten the joint lock
bolt to the specified torque.

7. When rotating the auger screw, start the operation

after making sure that your surroundings are safe.
Never put your hand, foot, foreign objects, etc. in
the casing inlet and the soil removal port even if
the auger screw is not rotating.

8. Tighten the joint lock bolt to the specified torque as

needed in order to check the looseness.
9. When replacing the auger head due to wear limit,
etc., replace the joint pin and the joint lock bolt with
new ones at the same timing.

INSPECTION & MAINTENANCE
Inspection of Auger Head
WARNING
When inspecting the auger head installed to the auger screw, make sure to turn OFF the
power of the radio control transmitter or the cable controller.
WARNING
Do not put your hand or foot in the space between the ground and the auger head or to the
auger screw.

If there is any chipping or abrasion

on the bit as shown in the figure,
replace with a new one or rotate
the bit 180 degrees so that the
overlay portion of the bit can be
used.

If you continue to use the bit in

the condition shown in the right Bit Replacement Criteria
figure, abrasion at the entry of the
bit increases. As a result, it will be 5 mm or more
needed to cut the blade main
