Opportunity to Save Lives

On November 2, citizens the State of Georgia will have an opportunity to save lives. By passing Ballot
Amendment 2 on Nov. 2, Georgia’s constitution can be amended and establish a dedicated funding source
for the state’s trauma care system. For an annual car registration fee of $10, the state can generate $80 mil-
lion a year. 100% of the money from this fee will go into the trauma fund and cannot be used for anything
else. The State of Georgia’s trauma network is inadequate to meet the trauma needs of the state. (refer to
the map) There are areas in the state with limited or no adequate trauma system. Amendment 2 can literally
mean life or death for those in our state. Consider Amendment 2 when you vote November 2.
Clergy Appreciation Month
October is Clergy Appre-
ciation Month. The
Northeast Georgia area
is blessed to have caring
clergy to meet the spiri-
tual needs of their flock.
Each day numerous clergy come to the North-
east Georgia Medical Center to bring the pres-
ence of a loving God to those who are ill. We
are grateful for your ministry. As a way to ex-
press our appreciation, you are invited to a
brunch in your honor next Wednesday, October
27 from 11 to 12:30. The brunch will be held in
the conference room next to the Pastoral Care
Office in the North Patient Tower. The brunch
is a drop-in, so come to grab some refresh-
ments or stop and stay to visit.
Ministry is a demanding vocation. However, it
is essential for those who suffer. Thank you for
all you do in your service to others, but please Hospice of NGMC Groups & Events
remember to take care of yourself. Henri J. M.
Nouwen once wrote: All groups and events are FREE, but registration is re-
quired. Call 770-219-8888 to register.
