Our Winter Recital will be Sunday, December 11th at 11:30am at Lewis & Clark’s Evans
Auditorium. Please begin to discuss with your teacher regarding a solo piece and they will

let us know which kids from each studio are signing up to play. When the time is closer, 11:30 am
we’ll have a sign-up for piano rehearsals with Dr. Mishkin both on her door on Thursdays
and by email.
Saturday December 11
There will also be a recital at 6pm on Thursday, December 16th at the Sylvan church, Lewis & Clark
and another recital that week in the evening at PAES in Gresham.

Master Teacher Edmund Sprunger coming to Portland!

RCMA is pleased to announce that in cooperation with area educators, we are bringing Suzuki specialist and author
Ed Sprunger to Portland in January! Mark your calendars and save the dates Saturday & Sunday January 22nd and 23rd.
Classes in Suzuki philosophy for parents, workshops for teachers and of course opportunities for students will be in the
mix. It’s going to be a fantastic weekend for violinists, educators and parents.

“Edmund Sprunger has taught violin for over twenty years in his home studio and at over 200 institutes, workshops,
and master classes throughout the U.S. and Canada. He has served on the board of the Suzuki Association of the
Americas and is a registered Suzuki teacher trainer. In addition, he has been chair of the Committee on Studio
Instruction of the American String Teachers Association (ASTA), and received an ASTA Citation for Leadership and
Merit. Also trained as a psychotherapist, he holds an MSW from the University of Michigan and has done extensive
post-degree training with the Michigan and St. Louis psychoanalytic institutes. He currently serves as the Director
of the Child Development Program at the St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute.”
