II. Summary
A. Traditional Learning vs Problem-based Learning

In this slide we can see the steps in traditional learning and problem-based learning. Here
we can see that in traditional learning, we need to comply to our instructors that they need us to
tell us what to do, learn something from it and then memorize it and then they will assign us a
problem so that we can illustrate to them what to do when such problems occur. What’s hard
about learning the traditional way is that we are sometimes just memorizing it and not actually
learning from it. Unlike in problem-based learning our instructors will assign an problem, and
then enumerate what we need to know, enumerate what we need to do and then learn and apply
each and every thing you learned to solve the problem.

5
In traditional way, they tend to go to the library to study, to memorize or to gather
information or data. But the disadvantage of this is that what if we don’t have that much time to
read and dissect every thing written in that book or topic we need to learn. Instead, you can rent a
computer (if you don’t have one) and then search for what you need. Search for a video tutorial
on YouTube of that thing you need to study. In this way, you can learn faster because you are
actually watching how to do it.

But for me, combining these two methods of studying is somehow better because you can look
for the definition and how to use in the book but in the same time, you can search for the
application of it on the internet. That’s why in our generation, it is very efficient to have a
cellular phone and have an internet with it because you can actually go anywhere without
worrying on how to study or to search for something.

6
B. Blended Learning and E-Learning

That’s why Hytec Power Inc., is proposing Blended Learning and E-Learning.

What is Blended learning? It is an approach to education that combines online

educational materials and opportunities for interaction online with traditional place-based
classroom methods. Meaning you and your instructor/s is/going to combine online learning and
classroom-based learning at the same time. Which gives you the opportunity to learn fast but
efficiently. In doing this method, you can learn many things in just hours. How about E-learning?
It is a learning method which is conducted via electronic media, typically on the internet. This
includes searching on the internet or taking advantage of what we have as a very powerful
technology of our time – internet.

Is it good to try blended learning and e-learning? Of course. We need to maximize our resources
of learning. We must take advantage of what we have in a good way. We need to use the
efficiency of the internet.

7
The 21st Century Mobile Social Learning is a learning method which uses and explains
everything using an application. They have the video content and skills for example the
YouTube and getting interactions with students using either laptops or tablets, through this, they
can maximize their resources because they can do it in their gadgets with no worries and doubts.

Is this kind of learning method very important?

Yes, it is very important because we need to conform with our generation’s standards when it
comes to learning. Especially nowadays, from children up to our parents use gadgets to research
or to learn something. We are just one click away from learning everything we want to whatever
information we want to have. That is the negative side of our advanced technology, with just one
click the internet is ready to give sensitive information about anything, about anyone.

8
E-Learning is in the form of Open Source Learning Portals, Massive Open Online
Courses, Classroom Management System and Web Conferencing Software. They can use their
every gadget from laptop to smart phones in learning those lessons online. One example of
massive open online course portals is the Udemy. There, from learning to play the guitar to
learning how to program is a quality online video tutorials. Aside quality tutorials, some of their
best courses are for free.

It is very important for our generation to have an application or open online course portals like
Udemy because so many people today spend most of their time using their gadgets. So it won’t
be hard for us to use it as one of our learning platforms.

Here are some of the advantages of distance education: 1.) It does not require comminuting; 2.)
you can complete most of the classes at your convenience; 3.) live anywhere, study from
anywhere while pursuing the education of your choice; 4.) gain extra knowledge; 5.) self-paced
learning; 6.) accessibility; 7.) convenience and flexibility; 8.) interaction; 9.) individualized
instruction; 10.) potential; and 11.) cause.

C. ICT PRINCIPALS

Here are the ICT International Partners and we call them ICT Principals.

First we have AHA, from Korea, they are 8 years in the industry since 2011.

Next we have TestOut, from Utah, USA, 28 years in the industry since 1991. TestOut provides
our ICT Simulation Software.

Next we have Yalong from Zhejiang China since 1983 they are 36 years in the industry. Yalong
provides in ICT the Hybrid Intelligent Building Engineering Training Equipment that is being
used in the ASEAN skills competition setup.

Next we have CompTIA, from Chicago USA, 26 years in the industry since 1993.

We have here Aldebaran, from France. The makers of our Humanoid Robot. They are 12 years
in the industry since 2005.

Here we have our new partner NetSupport School, from United Kingdom, but 28 years in the
industry since 1989.

10
Next we have Labtech from Indonesia. They provide complete solution with certification for
each trainer, 32 years in the industry since 1985.

Next we have IL&FS, from India. The makers of their 6-in-1 Interactive device and they are 26
years in the industry since 1991.

And lastly, their very supportive partner K&H from Taiwan. 39 years in the industry since 1979.

And all of their International Partners are all ISO Certified and are continuously providing us the
latest technology in ICT.

From here we are happy to share to you our dream in bridging the Industry –Academe Skills
Gap.

11
Presenting our Information and Communications Technology laboratory setup specially
designed for Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics and Communications
Engineering, Information System, Information Technology, as well as for K-12.

They made sure that they will have many computer-related courses because they know they can
give the best and most of the lessons will be given in a modern way. In this way, students can
learn many things in just enough time to sink it in their brains and absorb it.

12
Presenting their Information and Communications Technology Laboratory Setup and
Information Network Cabling for ICT Tracks, Computer System Servicing and K to 12 ICT and
CSS Tracks.

And all their laboratory Setup has its own Simulation Based E-Learning Platform, Classroom
Management System Software, Equipment for Final Assessment Hands-on Training of the E-
Learning Platform and finally the Vendor-Neutral International Certification for the final skills
assessment of every students and professionals.

Laboratories like these are very important because tools like these are the ones that many
technicians needed. It will be easy for them to identify and troubleshoot if bad things will happen
to a computer or a networking environment.

13
They have also designed laboratories based on specialization. The Computer Hardware
Fundamentals laboratory includes, training equipment and courseware for teaching Introduction
to Computing. The Programming laboratory is used for teaching programming as well as
introduction to human computer interaction. Lastly, the Networking and Data Communications
laboratory is used for teaching basic networking up to advanced routing and switching.

The only disadvantage of this kind of learning is that, we Filipinos do not depend on things like
these. We depend by the experiences or problems we encounter. So when this technology will
come to our country, many will be independent to it.

III. APPENDICES

This is an armbot IQ, this is a product of VEX IQ. This robot can lift things and is made
out of Lego. There are two programming software options – Modkit for VEX (free online
version or ROBOTIC VEX IQ Curriculum. It has a video game style remote control with a
rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Its Robot Brain has 12 self-configuring input/output ports.

This kind of work is a masterpiece for computer engineering or information technology students.
Because a work like this is very challenging but it is very satisfying once you finished it. This
kind of project can be used in real life situations. Although this is not very developed yet, I
believe this can be very useful.

15
This is a clawbot. It has over 300 parts, includes four motors, structural metal, fasteners,
wheels, and gears. This clawbot for me is much more interesting and useful than the armbot.
Because it looks more durable than armbot. Armbot is just like a one building with weak
foundation unlike this clawbot. This robot claw can hold an object, like a ball, cube or plastic
cup. You can program it to make a delivery, program it to go to a specific place in your house
and to deliver it on the second specific place.

16
These are two clawbots, the other giving the other clawbot an object. This is a
demonstration to know if the programming challenge that it can deliver objects is working. In ten
years or more, I think this kind of projects will be turned into real life and will be used in
construction sites or construction projects when building big infrastructures. This will be very
helpful in the future. It will be much easier for the people working in a construction business to
do their work.

This kind of work is not that very convenient yet because it was just made out of lego materials.
But once this project is turned into a real project and the materials to be much stronger, this is
will be a very beautiful project.

17
This is Ike, it is a fun robot because he can drive around, bend over, and even pick up
objects. The best part about Ike is that he can be built using just the parts from a VEX IQ Starter
Kit or Super Kit. However, you can always use extra parts to make yours unique. It can speak
some foreign languages, too.

Robots nowadays are becoming just like us, humans. Some robots has the ability to have
emotions, to have them make a task, to speak over a hundred languages, some thousands. Some
are saying that robots can destroy humanity because one day they will have the ability kill us.
But for me, it still depends because we are the one who will program them, meaning we are the
one in control because we made them. And we are the one to give them instructions using
programming.

18
This robot looks like just an armbot and clawbot combined. It has a very steady base and
has a controller just like of a gaming console (PS4, X-box, etc…). It has a controlling system that
looks like a cellular phone attached to it. It has sensors, too. This robot can lift objects like cube
or a ball. And for me, this is more durable than those armbot and clawbot because it looks its
claw and base is made out of steel.

19
This is one of the participants in a robotics contest. I can say that he worked hard for this
project and he has the skills to be a good robotics maker some day. I can say that his project is a
like a clawbot, and it looks durable.

20
This is the company that is responsible for the robots that I’ve identified above. They
provide the tools to inspire the problem solvers of tomorrow. The world faces an unprecedented
need for new innovators, thinkers and problem solving leaders. Their goal is to create engaging,
affordable and powerful solutions that immerse students in STEM through the excitement of
building and programming educational robotics kits.

This is another robot developed by VEX. This is a robot t-rex and it looks like a toy, this
can be very helpful for students that are just beginning to explore the world of robotics.
