Dear Mr. Antonio Guterres

I write this letter to you, who are the ones who have the destinies of the world in your hands, to
draw attention to the damage to the environment. The advance of technology and
industrialization has generated much pollution to the environment, diseases to people, without
ignoring the good that these advances have brought to human life.

The damage to the environment, generated by the production of computers, cell phones, cars,
airplanes, new means of transport, makes the future of the planet increasingly darker. If we do not
stop this environmental damage, the earth will die. Our carbon footprint is very high, we abuse
the use of plastic, we abuse the use of fossil fuels, we are not looking for alternatives to clean fuels
such as solar or wind energy. I think that the United Nations should make the use of sustainable
technologies and energies a reality

I think that to mitigate the damage to the environment, serious policies are needed to care for the
planet: the use of clean energies, the sustainable development of technology, the reduction of the
use of plastic, the reduction of the carbon footprint, care for forests, take care of the seas and
rivers, it is necessary to recycle and, finally, it is necessary to educate people so that these policies
are not only letters in a book, but are a reality in the daily life of every inhabitant of the earth.

Finally, I think that you, who are the leaders of the world, are bound to do something for the
planet, urgently. Stop thinking about money and economic development and think more about the
people and the welfare of the planet.
