TOPIC : Unit 1 – Family Day
FOCUS SKILLS : : Listening and Speaking
CONTENT STANDARD : 1.1 By the end of the 6 year primary schooling, pupils will be able to pronounce words and
speak confidently with the correct stress, rhythm and intonation.
LEARNING STANDARD : 1.1.4 Able to speak on related topics with guidance
LEARNING OBJECTIVE : By the end of the lesson, the pupils will be able to:
1. talk about Family Day with the teacher’s guidance.

1. Teacher enters the class and conducts self-introduction on herself to the pupils.
2. Teacher briefs pupils on some basic classroom rules that she expects cooperation from the
pupils and also the requirements which the pupils have to fulfil.
3. Teacher shows some pictures to the pupils and pupils to respond to teacher’s questions.

4. Teacher explains the Family Day concept and provides examples of activities.
5. Teacher provides some practice on asking and answering questions based on the topic of
Family Day.
6. Pupils are divided into groups and let them talk about the family Day in 3-4 sentences with
teacher’s guidance.
7. Teacher chooses at random and asks the pupils to tell others about their Family Day
ideas.
8. Teacher gives feedback to the pupils and encourage them to speak confidently.

1. read and answer 3 out of 5 comprehension questions correctly based on the poster shown.

LEARNING OBJECTIVE : By the end of the lesson, the pupils will be able to:
1. rewrite passage using the correct punctuation.

2. Pupils read aloud with correct pronunciation and intonation with the teacher’s guidance.

5. Teacher gives examples on the board.
6. Explain the concept of punctuation to the pupils.
7. Pupils correct the sentence with the suitable punctuation marks.
