To whom it may concern,

I am excited to present my resume for consideration as a teacher in your school district. I’m graduating from
the University of Arizona in May of 2019 with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and an ESL
Endorsement. Given my extensive volunteering and student teaching experience in various schools and grade
levels, I am confident in my ability to be a valuable asset to your school.

Throughout my education, I have had the privilege of teaching diverse groups of students, including those
from a variety of different cultures, students with disabilities, and gifted individuals. Being immersed in these
diverse experiences has shaped me into the teacher I am today. I have learned how important it is to be
culturally responsive to my students by incorporating relevant topics into my lessons and different learning
styles into my lessons. While keeping students interests in mind, I am a strong believer in incorporating
movement into the classroom to keep students actively participating and focused.

My creativity, flexibility, patience, organization, and dedication are qualities that contribute to my being an
outstanding candidate for this job. I also have a history of leadership roles and experiences. I’ve displayed my
stellar leadership skills through being a cheer captain for three consecutive years, as well as holding an
executive position in my sorority for two years. I promote leadership opportunities in the classroom and know
the importance of an empowered learner.

My teaching philosophy is grounded in creating a socially just community and having a positive learning
environment. This allows all students to feel safe, comfortable, respected and valued for being themselves. My
goal is that students will leave my classroom as positive productive members of society. Teaching is an
important job that I take seriously. To see the light of understanding in a child's eyes gives me a deep sense of
satisfaction in having been a part of the learning process. It is these moments that motivate me to be the best
teacher I can be. As a student with a learning disability, I became aware that I had to work harder than anyone
else, but I have learned with hard work and perseverance, I can achieve great success. As a future educator
graduating Summa Cum Laude, I hope to relay this message to the many struggling students out there with
learning disabilities: Anything is possible, I am proof!

I am confident that I would be a bright light for your school and can help to contribute to the quality education
that your school district provides. I am positive I will quickly become a valuable member of your team. I hope
I have the privilege to meet with you and discuss this opportunity. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Antonia Thompson
