Thank you for the updates. This is the second time you are including me in this sub-
group communication. I am afraid you made me part of the group in error. I wish to
clarify that I don't see how I fit in this sub-group. I prefer to be part of the whole LAONA
communication, or the LAONA Task Force Group - where I am currently a volunteer.

you that, after a long, long moment of personal thoughts,
consultations with some members of our group from here
in N Amewrica and at home, it was unanimously agreed
that I proceed with the filing of a Lawsuit against Imat
Betty Adiyo Odero for defamation of my character. I want
to clear my name and I have retained an experienced
US Attorney (who worked in Uganda), who will help me do
just that. Ms. Odero will be given a fair trial in court.
The court date is set for June 19-21, 2013 during the
same week when we meet in Philadelphia to inaugurate
LAONA. The timing is critical to enable many of you
travelling to Philli and invited guests from Uganda to
attend and bear witness.
Attached is a document which will give you some
understanding of the magintude of this matter.

Third, Are you threatening my life?

I am suprised to hear that after living in the US for more
than six years, you still don't know the law that govern
the security and safety of Americans in this country.
What I mean here is that it is illegal to threaten the life of
somebody by saying, and I quote from your letter, "I will
be forced to seek other alternatives to stop you from
doing so". What other alternatives are you talking
about? Are you going to hire an assassin, a NRM military
man, or use poison or what to stop me?
Now that I have your letter in my hand as evidence of
threats, you are at my mercy as to wether I should file a
legal criminal lawsuitagainst you or report your threats to
the police. If I choose to do either way, you will be
arrested for threatening my life. You will serve time in
jail for a minimum of 5 years and face deportation as
soon as you finish your jail term. The US prosecutors will
interpret your lthreat to mean anything and anything,
including hiring an assassin to kill me with a gun or other
method, inflict harm to me, or do anything that will put
my life in danger. It will be your wordagainst you.
Last but not least, I donot know who you are and how
you came to this country and what or who you represent.
Last time I spoke with you over the phone, you sounded
a nice person. But I think I was mistaken. If this is what
you mean by "using other alternatives to stop me",
unless, I get a letter of apology with assurances that you
are not making arrangement to harm or kill me, be
advised that I will take legal action against you as soon as
I finish my withlawsuits against your friend. I don't take
threats such as this lightly, especially with people who

Dear Members,

I thank you all for the efforts being made towards the formation of the Lango Association. I do
appreciate the efforts of those who have sacrificed their time towards this noble cause for our
community in North America.
I would like to respond to an allegation made by one of our members that the Late Kamara was
taken to Uganda and poisoned. First, let us give respect to our members who have passed on,
please.

Second, I was the one who personally accompanied the late Kamara home. He had wanted to
visit his ailing mother. Unfortunately, he had heart problems which he succumbed to after a
disagreement with his late sister Carol. I still have all the copies of those documents stating those
facts. So it is not true that he was poisoned or murdered in anyway. I am therefore requesting
whoever is perpetuating this kind of information to desist from it and let the late Kamara rest. He
was a gallant son of Lango who made his contributions to our community and country as a whole
and deserves respect.

It is unfortunate that some Members of our community to whom we should be looking up to for
guidance and counsel are taking us to this unfortunate path. I think we should be able to accord
due respect to others just as we would like them to do the same to us.

I do know that sometimes people get fired up and in the heat of the moment say some things that
are regrettable but I think even in those circumstances people should try to exercise restraint. If
we who are thought of as the cream of the Langi are behaving this way, what do we expect those
who are in the villages to do?

I wish to thank the facilitator of LAONA for being steadfast and exercising restraint in this
heated circumstances. Let us stay focused on what is ahead and not get derailed.

Dr. Omara-Alwala,
Please re-read my letter and understand the content very
carefully . My letter is directed to my accuser, Ms. Betty
Odero, NOT to you or any other person. Yours was
nothing but an infromational part, so that you all know
publically what is going on, other than picking hearsays or
rumors from other people.
Second, even though you are the elected facilitaor of
LAONA, you are NOT the one running the show as we are
very well informed. The true organiser and faciliator is
Betty Odero, NOT you. Odero, "the chief financier", is in
charge and one other person. The truth is out there. We all
know it. June 19-23 will be a very interesting perod for
us. Take it or leave it. One time she even offered her
second property to be used for the conference. Are you
aware of that?
Third, Let me tell you now, I will not take any threat or
nonsense from you. First You abandoned us last year
when you were apponited a facilitaror for the visit of Won
Nyaci and LC12 branch of N America. How do you expect
us to trust you or act differently this time? Second, You
have already picked a quarrel with three of our very
important sisters who did not agree with your views
and have alienated them from the group and
from participation in LAONA formation. I don't think you
will see them in Philli. Third, in your letter dated
03/09/2013, you clearly stated that "LAONA is not for
everybody" (meaning not for all the Langi), why do you
make such a careless statement even before we have a
conference and before LAONA is formed? Is LAONA your
personal organization or is this a Langi thing? We have
one man who rules Uganda and treats that country like his
personal property. Please don't copy him. It is a bad type
of leadership.
Dr. Omara-Alwala, You need to such your heart and make
reconcilliations where you went wrong. Don't be shocked if
you see a hanful of poeple only for the inauguration. As for
me and my family, we are coming as Langi. But don't
expect me to pay any membrship now since we haven't
had any elected leaders and adopted a constitution which
tells us about membership fees. If you choose to close the
door in our face for not paying, we shall return home.
Fourth, when I posted my letter to the community a couple
of days ago for the second time, I was expecting you
as "the faciliator or the current acting leaders of LAONA"
to call on Ms. Odero or me or both to try to resolve this
matter under the "cultural aspect" of our constitution. But
you brushed this off, branding it a "personal
issue". Really? You think this is a personal matter, not a
community issue? Suppose this happens back home and
some crazy woman accuses you for something you have
not done, labels you and your clan or people as"Ojogi",
what would you do? Just sit on it and brush it off? Let me
tell you my brother, people are killing each other in Lango
as we talk now because of issues like this. It is very very
serious back home. Clan and regular court cases
are dominated with kop me "ojogi" and "male-female"
issues.
Your inability to treat this matter seriously as a facilitator is
a total failure in your leadership style. All you are
interested in now is manufacturing hats, T-shirts and
selling and making money on us? Your inability to
intervene now and treat this important matter as a "cultural
issue" already indicates that you will fail us if you were
elected as the chairman of LAONA. I thought the
consititution states that LAONA is a cultural organization.
If that is so, why have you as a facilitaor not taken this
issue up with your committee to resolve it? When one
member of the community bleeds, it affects all of us one
way or the other. At least that is the way I see it. This is
my second attempt to draw your attentions, concerns and
reactions from the community to have Ms. Odero
disciplined or try to restrain her from misuse of her tongue
and milling lies and rumours. But since we seem to have
two groups of people in our community, (the "insiders" and
the "outsiders"), we the outsiders have no where to to turn
to but to the government of the US who protects our lives
and interests. That is why Ms. Odero is headed to court. If
you think this is a threat, wait and see. My name and my
people are very valuable to me.
Last but not least, I want to publically acknowldge and
thank Hon. Minister Dickson Ogwang, and Adam Odwar
for their friendly and brotherly phone calls they left in my
answering machine today. I was away attending my sons
graduation from a college when they called. I will call them
back. Hon. Dickson is a very intelligent Lawyer and
understanding Lango diplomat. I wish he was free to be
our facilitator, we would be fine. But you and your Bettys
group, go and hang!!!.

Dear Florence & Caesar,

This is a special request to both of you for review of our draft constitution and the bylaws. You
may not be legal experts and neither am I the chief architect of the documents! Keep in my that
these documents are meant for us to govern ourselves in the association and not for some other
group. That is why I have felt comfortable doing it in the first place. My attempt to get legal
experts to review it for us through have thus far not yielded any results. The other thing to
remember is that both these documents are work in progress, anyway. We can always change
them any time through the amendments provision. In addition, the two of them are very similar
in contents. The constitution gives the framework of how we want to govern ourselves, while
the bylaws are for the day-to-day running of the organization. So, if I can do it, I know you two
in particular can do it better than me.
Please let me know if you are willing to help with the review of my drafts of the constitution and
the bylaws before I can send it to you.
Caesar, the documents are much more readable than you first struggled with it!!!! I promise.
