Krautkramer USN 58R

The ultrasonic instrument for the workshop, even for automated inspections.

High-contrast, crystal clear …

and optimum readability from any viewing angle, all this is provided by the EL display of the USN 58R. This display technology does not only make this ultrasonic instrument the best choice for shop use but also for outdoor applications at very low temperatures:

the USN 58R loves the cold and operates even at -20 °C / -4 °F without any problem.

It goes without saying that the display can be further optimized depending on the application site: you can set the brightness low or high, or you can choose the inverted display mode for fatigue- proof work. Thanks to the electronic parallax-free grid, you will see every detail even at an unfavorable viewing angle and from a greater distance.

Automatic, multi-channel …

are requirements that the USN 58R is also able to meet: the instrument is qualified for automated applications by its two monitor gates provided with configurable real-time outputs - in combination with the "SmartView" feature which ensures maximum flaw detectability, especially at high scanning speeds.

Multi-channel test systems can be quite easily set up by synchronizing several instruments and, provided with the Interface Echo option, these systems are also suitable for an immersion test. This makes the USN 58R an economic solution in this extended field of application for portable ultrasonic instruments.

Universal, flexible

are the attributes characterizing the USN 58R thanks to its other options:

the Backwall Echo Attenuation feature, specifically including the backwall echo in the flaw evaluation by reducing the gain, makes the USN 58R a good choice, especially for the inspection of castings and forgings.

Another focal area of application is the weld inspection - of course with amplitude evaluation and precise flaw location on flat and curved components - or with the additional options DAC/TCG or DGS for ultrasonic testing according to the majority of national or international standard specifications.
