Bree joined our class for a brief period at the end of Term 2 and the start of Term 3.

In
the short time that I have worked with her, she has proven herself to be a very natural
art student, with excellence level skills in a variety of drawing media. Due to a recent
change in her timetable, she has now moved to another art class and will complete the
remainder of the year there. If Bree continues to work with the same level of care and
attention to detail I'm sure she will achieve very good results in this subject. She was a
pleasure to teach.

Josh was a quiet student in art. He was always attentive to instructions and worked
productively during class time. It would have been good to see him complete more
tasks to a higher standard as some work in his art folder was not completed. Josh could
sometimes be reluctant to ask for help when struggling, but was always receptive to
feedback and demonstrations when offered. He was always respectful and considerate
of his peers and worked cooperatively with the other two members of his group in the
mural project. He was a joy to teach.

Jack was a friendly and sociable student in Year 10 Art. Although he was capable of
producing some quality work, he was often distracted and easily led off task. Jack gave
set tasks a reasonable effort but would become frustrated and often give up if he found
a new process or technique challenging. I enjoyed Jack's lively contribution to class but
at times he needed to be told to refocus and listen to instructions. His results across the
four units reflect a reasonably casual attitude towards his work, with some of the tasks
being rushed or incomplete. Overall, I enjoyed teaching Jack.

Libby was a friendly student in Year 10 art. She produced some pleasing results across
the four units of art media, but there were times I felt she was coasting and not striving
to reach the next level. Libby developed her drawing, painting, and printmaking skills
but I would have liked to see her better utilise her class time rather than letting social
distractions impinge on her productivity. Libby also needed to be more organised with
naming her work and keeping it stored in her own art folder, as I have found her art
scattered around the room or in friends' folders. She was always open and receptive to
feedback in our conversations. Libby bought a good sense of humour and positive
attitude to class each day, making her a pleasure to teach.

Brayden was a capable student but became increasingly disruptive over the course of
the Year 10 Art program. He generally needed to work with more focus and consistency
in class, and arrive with a more cooperative and mature attitude. He was regularly
distracted during activities and did not work productively enough to complete or refine
artworks to a high standard. I would have liked to see Brayden utilize his class time
better in order to achieve results that reflected his ability. Fortunately for Brayden, he is
an intelligent and highly capable student, and with a shift in attitude, will achieve good
results. But until he changes this, he will continue to achieve at a level far below his
potential.

Max was a talented art student whose diligent and meticulous approach to the subject
produced some excellent results. Max took to a range of tasks and media with an
intuitive level of skill over the last two terms. He particularly excelled in the drawing
unit, producing work that was highly skilled and full of detail. He was driven to produce
work of a consistently high standard and was always happy to share his ideas in our
conversations. It was encouraging to see Max utilising his time both in and out of the
classroom to complete his work. His positive attitude and friendly demeanour was an
asset to the whole class.

Eva was a confident student who produced some good quality work over the last two
terms. She has a great deal of natural ability with drawing and painting, and made a
promising start to the year. However, during the last two units completed in term two,
Eva had a tendency to lose interest or give up when a new technique was initially
challenging. This was not helped by the fact she was often too chatty in class, and
often needed to be reminded about not using her phone. There were days that she
would arrive to class with an argumentative attitude which was unproductive and
became a distraction to her classmates. I enjoyed teaching Eva, although I would have
liked to see her better utilise her time and talent to achieve results that reflect her
ability.

Lola was a delightful student to teach. Throughout Term 1 and 2 she worked on her art
activities quietly with focus and maturity. As a result she consistently produced high
quality work across a range of media. I have seen a steady improvement in Lola’s skills
over the time I have taught her. Her artwork demonstrated a good understanding of
composition and technical facility with both wet and dry media. She was a pleasure to
teach.

Serah was a delightful student to teach. She took on activities with enthusiasm and
achieved some pleasing results for her efforts. Serah developed her skills across a
range of media throughout Term 1 and 2; she worked with focus and related to others
with respect and maturity. She was always happy to ask for feedback when struggling
with a new technique and was responsive to advice on how to improve. Serah can be
proud of her merit results in the drawing and painting units. It was a shame Serah did
not get to complete her etching in the printmaking unit, but she gave her best effort to
catch up on the lessons she missed. She was a pleasure to teach.

Keshavleen was a delightful student to teach. She took on activities with enthusiasm
and achieved great results for her efforts. Keshavleen developed her skills steadily
across a range of media throughout Term 1 and 2. She committed extra time outside of
class to complete work, which was much appreciated. Keshavleen showed maturity and
a lot of natural ability in the subject with particular strengths in the drawing, painting,
and printmaking unit. She was a pleasure to teach.

Min-Joo is a delightful student to teach. She took on activities with enthusiasm and
achieved excellent results for her efforts. Min-Joo is a meticulous worker who strove for
perfection in all of her artworks. She steadily developed her skills across a range of
media throughout Terms 1 and 2 and finished pieces to a very high calibre. She
committed time outside of class to complete work, which was much appreciated. Min-
Joo showed maturity and a great deal of natural ability in the subject with particular
strengths in the drawing and painting unit. She is a pleasure to teach.

Keira was a pleasure have in art over the last two terms. She worked productively and
took to unfamiliar activities with enthusiasm and positivity. Keira developed her skills
steadily across a range of media throughout Term 1 and 2. She also committed extra
time outside of class to complete work, which was much appreciated. Kiera showed
natural ability in the subject with particular strengths in drawing and painting. She was
a pleasure to teach.

Eireann was a polite and friendly student who produced some reasonably good quality
work over the last two terms. She took on new art making techniques and processes
with her usual upbeat attitude and sense of humour. However, she was often too chatty
in class; this lead to her artwork being unfinished or of a lower standard than I believe
she was capable of. Eireann developed her drawing, painting and printmaking skills, but
I would have liked to see her better utilise her class time in order to achieve results that
reflected her ability. She was always open and receptive to feedback in our
conversations. Eireann bought a positive and inclusive attitude to class each day and
was a pleasure to teach.
Jamie was a talented art student whose diligent, meticulous approach to the subject
produced some excellent results. He took to a range of tasks and media with an
intuitive level of skill over the last two terms. Jamie particularly excelled in the drawing
unit, producing pencil, charcoal and pen work that was highly skilled and full of detail.
He was driven to produce work of a consistently high standard and was always happy
to share his ideas with me in conversations. It was encouraging to see Jamie utilising
his time both in and out of class to complete his work. His positive attitude and friendly
demeanor made him a pleasure to teach.

Daisy was a quiet student who worked steadily over Term 1 and 2. I have seen a
steady improvement in Daisy's skills controlling a range of media over the time I have
taught her. She produced some good work which demonstrated understanding of
composition and control with wet and dry media. At times, Daisy could have worked
with a more focussed approach and made more effort to complete some tasks, but can
generally be pleased with the quality of artwork she produced. She was a pleasure to
teach.

Kyle was a capable student who achieved good results when he applied himself with
focus and maturity. However, his behavior and inability to work quietly became not only
a distraction to himself, but also to others in the classroom. His results over the
drawing, painting and mural assessment reflected his casual approach to completing
work to his best ability. Kyle did show a good level of exploration in the printmaking
unit and earned a merit result. Towards the end of term two it was encouraging to see
Kyle utilise some of his lunchtimes to complete unfinished pieces of artwork. At times
when he was working productively, I found Kyle to be a pleasant and friendly young
man. I enjoyed teaching him.

Summer was a delightful student to teach. She took on activities with enthusiasm and
achieved great results for her efforts. Summer developed her skills steadily across a
range of media throughout Term 1 and 2. She committed extra time outside of class to
complete work, which was much appreciated. Summer showed maturity, a solid work
ethic, and natural ability in the subject with particular strengths in the drawing and
painting unit. She was a pleasure to teach.
Alex was a good-humored student who developed his confidence in art over Term 1
and 2. However, there were often times when Alex needed to work with more focus
and ignore the distractions of his peers. It is important that Alex perseveres when he
finds a new technique challenging, rather than giving up and leaving artwork
unfinished. This was the case with some tasks in the drawing and painting units which
prevented Alex from moving beyond the achieved grade range. He was, however,
always happy to ask for help when he was unsure or needed further clarification on a
particular task, and was responsive to feedback. Alex was always polite, friendly, and
enjoyable to have in the art room.

Luis is a pleasant young man who gave a good effort over Term 1 and 2. He gained a
solid level of understanding and control using a range of art making techniques, and
can generally be pleased with the results he has achieved. There were moments when
Luis would let social distractions impinge on his productivity, and often I felt he could
have pushed himself to finish work with more focus and attention to detail. When
offered suggestions on how to improve his drawing, painting, and etching techniques,
he was always receptive and took action on advice. Luis was unfailingly respectful,
good-humored, and considerate towards others. He was a pleasure to teach.

Taine was a conscientious and cooperative student in Year 10 Art. He experimented

with a range of wet and dry media, and particularly excelled in the area of drawing.
During Term 1, he produced some pencil, charcoal and compositional pieces he can be
very proud of. He managed to complete most of the work set out in class, but during
the mural unit would have benefited from and a more focussed approach to his artwork
and resisting social distractions. I enjoyed teaching Taine and found him to be a keen
worker who was engaged and readily accepting of feedback.

Ben is a pleasant student who joined the class during the printmaking unit, completing
two of the four units taught. He quickly settled in, but his casual approach and off-task
behaviour often effected his productivity. I found Ben to be polite and receptive to
individual instruction. However, when assigned set tasks he needed to work with more
focus and ignore the distractions of his peers. I enjoyed his upbeat demeanour and
sense of humour.

Hannah is a friendly student who found some of the work in art challenging this year.
Her folder of artwork clearly shows that she needs to work more steadily to complete all
tasks, and allow herself more time to refine her finished pieces to a higher standard.
Hannah managed to produce the minimum amount of work to achieve at this level,
albeit at the lower end of the achieved grade range. A more diligent, focussed approach
in class and avoiding social distractions would have secured Hannah better results over
the last two terms. She was always polite, considerate and mature towards myself and
her peers which made her a pleasure to teach.

Eleanor was a delightful student to teach. She took on activities with enthusiasm and
achieved outstanding results for her efforts. Eleanor developed her skills steadily across
a range of media throughout Term 1 and 2. She was a very careful and meticulous
student who strove for perfection in everything she put her hand to. If she felt
something was not up to her exacting standard, she committed extra time outside of
class to refine it further. Eleanor showed maturity, organization and a lot of natural
ability in the subject, with particular strengths in drawing, painting, and printmaking.
She was a pleasure to teach.

Jack was a respectful and quiet student who developed in confidence over Term 1 and
2. He had some natural ability with drawing and painting and worked steadily to
achieve pleasing results in his assessments. At times, Jack was hesitant to ask for help
when he was unsure or needed further clarification on a particular task, but was always
responsive to feedback. Jack worked with focus and conducted himself maturely
towards myself and his classmates. He was always polite, considerate of others and
was a pleasure to have in the art room.

Sean was a quiet student with a friendly demeanor. He worked independently on most
tasks and rarely asked for feedback on his art. In saying that, he readily took on advice
and listened attentively to instructions. His drawing and painting skills developed well
over Term 1 and 2 and he produced some artworks he can be proud of. At times he
could have worked with more focus and attention to detail, but on the whole he gave
all tasks a solid effort. I enjoyed his dry wit and sense of humour. He was a pleasure to
teach.

Dean was a respectful student who developed his confidence in art over Term 1 and 2.
However, there were times when Dean needed to work with more focus and ignore the
distractions of his peers. It is important that Dean perseveres when he finds a new
technique challenging, rather than give up and leave artwork unfinished. He was always
happy to ask for help when he was unsure or needed further clarification on a particular
task, and was responsive to feedback. Dean was always polite, considerate of others
and was a pleasure to have in the art room.

Christie was a delightful student to teach. She took on activities with enthusiasm and
achieved some great results for her efforts. Christie developed her skills steadily across
a range of media throughout term 1 and 2. She was always happy to ask for feedback
when struggling with a new technique and was responsive to advice. Christie can be
proud of her merit results across the four media units; she demonstrated a consistent
level of control and solid work ethic in class. She was a pleasure to teach.
