March, 2002
Dear Resident,
Help determine the future of your parks! The City of Brookings is in the process of creating its
first Parks Master Plan. A large part of parks planning is gathering community input to identify
current use and future needs. Your household has been randomly selected to participate in this
survey. This is your opportunity to voice your opinions about parks and recreation in the
Brookings/Harbor area. To determine overall recreational use, some questions include County,
State, and Federal parks.
The City has asked the University of Oregon Community Planning Workshop to conduct this
community survey. This survey will help the City understand residents’ opinions, attitudes and
needs in regards to parks in the Brookings/Harbor area. A public workshop will also be held on
Thursday March 21st at 7:00 – 9:00 PM at the Chetco Public Library.
Please take the time to complete the enclosed survey and return it in the prepaid enclosed
envelope by April 5, 2002. Your participation in the survey is voluntary. All responses are strictly
confidential, and are for research purposes only. Your return survey indicates your willingness to
participate in the survey.
If you have questions regarding this survey, feel free to contact Jennifer Brost, Community
Planning Workshop Project Manager at (541) 3463651 or Leroy Blodgett, City Manager at (541)
4692163, ext. 204.
Thank you for your participation!
Sincerely,
Mayor Bob Hagbom
