NARRATIVE REPORT: SCHOOL-BASED-IN-SERVICE TRAINING (INSET)

Professional growth and development for teachers is a necessity in order to cope with the
changes in the curriculum in order to achieve quality education. How can teachers grow
professionally? By participating in teacher’s activities and attending seminars and trainings,
teachers are developed academically, emotionally and socially.

This year, we had our School-Based-In-Service Training or INSET last October 26-30, 2015.
The participants are the fifteen (15) teachers of San Vicente Elementary School. It started with
an opening program then followed by the discussion on the production of instructional material
namely TARPAPEL tackled by Mr. Prince Fronda. Teachers manipulated and made their own
outputs after the discussion. On the second day, Mrs. Anabel V. Tamayo discussed on
Computation of Grades (E-Version). In the afternoon, there was a workshop on the production of
instructional materials by Mrs. Myla M. Sinen and Ms. Joyce V. Dela Rosa. On the third day of
the training, I being the principal discussed the 21st Century Skills. I stressed the importance of
these skills specially in the kind of curriculum now wherein teacher serves as the facilitator and
pupils do the manipulation.

Other topics discussed during the training are: Modulo Art and Power Point Presentation by
Mr. Rayanth D. Ellana and DAMATH by Ms. Alma Grace M. Gamboa. These topics are also
indeed very useful because it makes learning easy and enjoyable.

The 5-days in-service training ended with a closing program. Outputs were presented by the
teachers. I can say that the training was indeed a success because teachers learned many skills
that they can apply in their classroom.

NARRATIVE REPORT: SCHOOL-BASED-IN-SERVICE TRAINING (INSET)

Learning is a continuous process. Teachers teach the pupils in order to learn as well as
teachers should also continue to grow and develop as stated in the Key Result Areas in our
IPCRF. Professional growth and development can be attained by enrolling in M.A.classes,
participating in teacher’s activities and attending trainings and seminars in the district, division,
region or even national level.

Last October 26-30, 2015, we had our School-Based-In-Service Training (INSET). The
training workshop started with an opening program. After the short program, Mr. Prince M.
Fronda discussed on the production of instructional materials namely the TARPAPEL. Most
teachers these days used these in teaching but not all know how to make it. With the discussion
we were able to manipulate on our own and make our own outputs. On the second day
computation of grades(E-Version) was discussed by Mrs. Anabel V. Tamayo and followed by a
workshop on the production of instructional materials by Mrs. Myla M. Sinen and Ms. Joyce V.
Dela Rosa. During the third day of the seminar workshop, our principal Ms. Marion M. Idio
tackled the 21st Century Skills. She stressed the importance of these skills especially in our
curriculum now.

Other topics discussed during the trainings are the Modulo Art and Power Point Presentation
by Mr. Rayanth D. Ellana. We manipulated our own computers in order to come up with our
own Power Point Presentation. I also discussed on DAMATH. Stressing that Damath can be
utilized to make mathematics easy and enjoyable.

The training ended with the closing program were in we presented our outputs on the different
topics discussed. The 5-Day-Mid-Year In-Service training was indeed very educational and
substantial. The teachers are equipped with different skills suited in the 21st century. The teachers
gained knowledge that we can utilize in the classroom setting for quality education.
