Classroom policies and attendance:

 The entire program will be composed of 6 meetings, each with a 2-hour duration;
 The class standing will be determined from the performance of the following:
CLASS STANDING:
 Attendance (Tardiness and Absenteeism) – 40%
 Reporting – 60%
MAJOR EXAM:
 Assessment Exam – 40%
 Virtual Tour Guiding – 60%
 All students are expected to come on time and achieve a perfect attendance.
 Students who fail to attend a meeting for valid reasons, must submit an excuse letter signed by the dean, and
must be presented on the next meeting, otherwise, the missed meeting will no longer be excused.
 One unexcused missed meeting will be equivalent to one whole activity. (e.g.: Meeting #1 = Quiz#1)
 For every excused missed meeting, the student will have to complete a special activity either through additional
reporting, case studies or other requirements related to the missed lesson.
 For every minute late, a 3 pt. deduction will be made on the equivalent activity.
Rubrics for reporting:

 Content (35 pts.)


 Delivery (35 pts.)
 Organization (20 pts.)
 Creativity (10 pts.)

Reminders:

 Student must be present during the day of his/her assigned report


 Reschedules will not be allowed unless, deemed necessary by the instructor
 A power point presentation and laptop must be provided by the reporter
 Student must be ready to entertain clarifications by the classmates and instructor
 A total of 2 hrs. will be provided to the student to deliver his/her topic

Rubrics for virtual tour guiding (100 pts. total):

A. Mastery of the subject (30 pts.)


 Knowledge of the destination

B. Communication skills: (30 pts.)


 Tone and quality of voice
 Overall projection
 Language nuances

C. Personal Appearance (20 pts.)


 Appropriateness of attire
 Confidence
 Stage presence

D. Rapport with the Tourist/Audience (15 Pts.)


 Arouse The Interest Of The Audience
 Elicit Positive Response

E. Proper and Appropriate Use of Communication Equipment and Other Aids (10 Pts.)

Reminders:

 Student must be present during the day of the presentation


 He/she is allowed to choose their destination
 Reschedules will not be allowed unless, deemed necessary by the instructor
 A power point presentation of the destinations and laptop must be provided by the reporter
 A minimum of 10 attractions must be featured by the presenter
 A total of 15 mins. Will be given to the student for the delivery
 Props and costume must also be prepared
