Chapter 1 Installation and Configuration

1.1 RIB Licence Manager Installation


1. Open iTWO2018 and Click the help button

2. Click DocumentationClick Installation-


InstructionsDouble click RIB Licence Management
(standard installation - quick guide).pdf.
Please refer to the document to install RIB Licence Manager.

1.2 iTWO 3D MSI Installation Package


iTWO 3D is licensed via RIB Licence Manager. There are 2
licenses modes. The user must have one of two licences.

1. The license mode of I-ITWO3D includes both Autodesk


Revit and RIB plugin for Revit.

2. The license mode of I-ITWO3D-ADDON does not include


Autodesk Revit. It includes only RIB plugin for Revit,
assuming the customer has already had Autodesk Revit.

1.2.1 RIB iTWO 3D Installation Package


If installing “iTWO 3D” package, licence “I-ITWO3D”
must to be installed. User can check the licence from
RIB licence manager. Please see below steps:
1) Double click to open RIB licence manager

2) Go to Configuration and active licence “I-ITWO3D”

1.2.2 RIB iTWO 3D ADDON Installation Package

If installing “iTWO 3D ADDON” package, licence “I-


ITWO3D-ADDON” must to be installed. User can check
the licence from RIB licence manager. Please see
below steps:
1) Double click to open RIB licence manager

2) Go to Configuration and active licence “I-ITWO3D-


ADDON”

1.3 iTWO 4.0

1. Click the Account Setting button to active the login process

2. In the following dialog, in put the URL and content:

Note:
The URL for RIB internal usage should be like:
https://itwo40-int.rib-software.com/itwo40/Daily/
Or
https://itwo40.rib-software.com/itwo40/rel3/

3. Then input the account information in the iTWO 4.0 Login


web UI.

Choose a company you want to work with and the role, click
continue:

4. Then you can successfully sign in to iTWO 4.0 or YTWO.


Click the Account Setting button to check. If the Login
information shows like this, you connect successfully.

5. If you want to change the URL, or your account, or the


company and role, please click Logout. Then the workflow
will start from step1.

1.4 iTWO Baseline

1. Configuration
1) Open iTWO2018 and Click the configuration button

2) Setup the global settings

3) Press the edit button

4) Input your CPI Service address

Afterwards the CPI Service is enabled again and you can


see it in the list of function profiles:

2. Create a new project

1) NavigationProjects(Right click)NewNew project

2) Input your project information

3) Customer Inquiry (right click) NewBIM Qualifier 


Objects will be created automatically.

4) Register your CPI Service Database

6) Open Revit from iTWO


Double click Element planning

8) Revit configuration
It shows the CPI server address and project. As Revit
is already connected to your project, you may not need to
change the default values.

Chapter 2 Data Synchronization from Revit to iTWO


2.1 Basic UI
Feature description:
 It uses the most advanced technologies to synchronize the
model data from Revit to RIB iTWO without blocking Revit
UI operations.

1. Main UI:

 Working view: RIB-3D-Sync. Data Synchronization works in


the view “RIB-3D-Sync”.
 Settings button: Settings for Synchronization mode, Server
mode, Server information, Project information, and CPI
Export Configuration.
 Sync mode information: All elements or Changed elements.
It conveys that which sync mode is being used.
 Identification: Collecting model elements & identifying
changed elements. Number means how the process status
is, by using a finish percent: No. %.
 Qualification: Exporting changed elements as CPI objects, &
qualifying them. Number means how the process status is,
by using a finish percent: No. %.

 Changed elements tree: By the format of data tree, showing


the changed elements including “Added elements”,
“Modified elements”, & “Deleted elements”.
 Elements, which failed during qualification: By the format of
data tree, showing those elements which failed during
qualification.

2. Settings dialogue:

 Synchronization Mode: All elements, Changed elements


 Server Mode: CPI Service, iTWO 4.0
 Server Information: IP Address, Port, Status. IP Address and
Port are identical with what you set in iTWO Baseline.

 Project Information: The project information comes from


iTWO Baseline or iTWO 4.0.
 Delete RIB iTWO Server Models: Delete all elements in the
connected RIB iTWO project, once clicking this
button.(Needless of clicking OK button)
 Search button: Searching with keywords to fast filter the
targeted iTWO project.

3. CPI Configuration dialogue:

 Import button: Importing CPI export configuration file (*.xml).


 Export button: Exporting CPI export configuration file (*.xml).
 Reset button: Reset the CPI export configuration to the
original.
 Save button: Saving the modified configuration.
 [X] Button: Closing the dialogue of CPI Configuration.

2.2 Generic Use


There are 3 ways to synchronize model to RIB iTWO from Revit.
2.2.1 CPI Service Mode
1. CPI Service + Changed elements
1) Click RIB iTWO TabClick Data Synchronization
buttonClick Settings button

2) Select Changed elementsSelect CPI ServiceInput


IP Address and PortSelect one projectClick OK
button.

2.3 Notes
2.3.1 Working View: RIB-3D-Sync
Settings for Data Synchronization takes effect only on this
view, e.g. visibility of model elements. Please do not delete
or rename this view during synchronization.
2.3.2 Computer sleep
Data synchronization is suspended when computer is
sleeping.
2.3.3 Delete RIB iTWO Server Model button
Please pay attention to use this button, all elements in the
connected RIB iTWO project will be deleted after clicking
this button.
