Marketing Strategy
In relation to maternity services as a product, the strategy would be to demonstrate the
benefit of providing a wide range of treatments, screening test and personalized care allowing
targeting of a larger segment of the public.

In promotions of the services, purchase ads in local publications, particularly those geared
towards families. Using Facebook ads are a great way to get your name out in the country.

Technical Study

Mothers are admitted only when the concerned midwife identifies it as low-risk pregnancy and
labor thus natural birth is likely. A prerequisite for admission to the Amazing Love Birthing Home
should have had routine test. If these criteria are met, the admitting midwife performs a checklist
screen that includes the findings of the history and examination.

Women who are found to be at low-risk and confirmed to be in labor are admitted. Women
who are determined to be a high-risk or who develop intra-partum risk partum factors, are referred to
the hospitals.

Financial Study

The business will finance by Rodina P. Fernandez, RM., who owns Three (3) Birthing Homes at
Marikina City and Quezon City and who is willing and able to provide the required amount of the
project which will cost about PhP 3, 958, 161.89

The PHIC reimburse of the NCP-MCP accredited facilities that includes the ALBH, the Newborn

Care Package is worth Php 1, 750.00 provided the following services are rendered:

 Drying of the newborn  early breastfeeding initiation and advice

 skin to skin contact  eye prophylaxis

 cord clamping  Vitamin K administration

 physical examination of the newborn  weighing of the newborn baby

 BCG vaccination

 Hepa B immunization (first dose)

 newborn screening Test and

 professional fee
 In instances, when one or more of the above services are not rendered. PHIC

deducts a corresponding deduction to the amount indicated above, e.g. NBS Test (Php

500.00), Newborn Screening Test (Php 200.00). if both screening test are not done the

deduction is Php 750.00.

On the other hand, MCP accredited health facilities (Maternity Clinics, BHs) including

the ALBH. The facility is being reimbursed by the PHIC with Php 8, 000.00 (fees for

the BH and professional service) under the 2011 case rate provided the following

services are rendered:

 Php 6, 500.00 of the total amounts shall be used to cover the following:

Professional Fees of the accredited doctors and fees for facilities used for delivery and

postpartum care and reproductive health, breastfeeding and newborn screening

counseling.

SOCIO-ECONOMIC STUDY

We provide care and education to women, sexual orientation and socioeconomic

status ALBH provide postpartum support with emphasis on establishing successful

breastfeeding.

MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATION STUDY

ALBH has a two stay-in midwife, one utility, one driver and one secretary. The

proponents need to have an OB-Gyne and Pediatrician on call. The researcher also has
a tie up with a nearby hospital for those instances when a patient might need additional

and more specialized treatment.

The researcher needs to obtain the following licenses and permits: Business

Permit accreditation by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Mayor’s Permit,

Sanitary Permit, Permit to Operate, Barangay Permit and accreditation by the

Department if Health (DOH).

The DOH accreditation form spells out all the other requirements, policies and

procedures we need to follow in putting up and operating a lying-in clinic including the

training and licensing of our staff.
