COMMUNITY RADIO STATION IN BIHAR AND JHARKHAND

Following are the name of community radio existing in Bihar and Jharkhand

1.Radio Rimjhim @90.4 MHz Tracking local issues through dialogue and
awareness -:

This community radio i.e. Radio Rimjhim was launched on 5 th January 2009 by a NGO (Non-
governmental organization) named Ayodhya Lal Kalyan Niketan in the Gopalganj district of state
Bihar.
The primary focus of this community radio station is to disseminate information on health
awareness, precautions from man-made disasters, encouragement for education among women and
youth.

2.Radio Snehi@90.4MHz. In touch with the community through their

volunteers-:

The organization named Snehi Lokatthan Sansthan has been behind the establishment of this
community radio station named Radio Snehi. This community radio was launched on 17th
November 2010.
The important role of this community radio is to promote and help in the growth of local talent
which often get suppressed and ignore due to the lack of friendly ambience and the dearth of
opportunity.

3. Uttam Radio @90.4 MHz Edutainment for students and underprivileged-:

The Uttam Radio, community radio was initiated by the Indian institute of Business Management,
Patna. It was established to act as a medium for non-formal education for youth of urban and rural
areas, women, common citizen and other interested audience to create awareness among them.

The fundamental reason behind the establishment of this radio station was to provide an easy
access to the masses of the medium from where they could spread their ideas and mind.

4. Mobile Vaani- Community Radio in Jharkhand-:

Mobile Vaani, so far, the only community radio in Jharkhand is equivalent to a social media
platform for the farmers of Jharkhand. The network of Mobile Vaani spread over 20 district of Bihar
and Jharkhand.

The primary work of this community radio is to work for the betterment and improvement of
farmers of Jharkhand by disseminating information about agricultural aspects and how to maximize
the profits for the farmers.
