The County Board of Jackson County, Minnesota held a special meeting [for the purpose of holding a closed
meeting, attorney/client privilege, Minnesota State Statues, Ch. 13D.05(3)(b)], in conjunction with the City of
Jackson, Minnesota City Council, at the Jackson City Hall, 80 West Ashley Street, City of Jackson, Minnesota,
on January 22, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. The following members of the Jackson County Board of Commissioners were
present: Don Wachal, James Eigenberg, Cathy Hohenstein, Phil Nasby and Scott McClure. County Coordinator
Steven Duncan, County Attorney Sherry Haley and Public Works Director Tim Stahl were Jackson County staff
also in attendance. Attorney Tim Christensen (via telephone), City of Jackson council members and staff were
also in attendance.
Motion was made by Commissioner McClure and seconded by Commissioner Eigenberg to adopt the
agenda. The motion carried unanimously.
CLOSED MEETING
Motion was made by Commissioner Wachal and seconded by Commissioner Nasby to close the meeting at
6:05 p.m. and as permitted by Minnesota Statutes Section 13D.05(3)(b), under attorney-client privilege,
regarding litigation. The motion carried unanimously.
Motion was made by Commissioner Eigenberg and seconded by Commissioner McClure to re-open the
meeting at aproximately 6:18 p.m. The motion carried unanimously.
OPEN MEETING
Motion was made by Commissioner Wachal and seconded by Commissioner Nasby for County staff to
proceed as directed. The motion carried unanimously.
Motion was made by Commissioner McClure and seconded by Commissioner Eigenberg authorizing the
County Board Chairperson to execute settlement agreement, as discussed, subject to attorney review. The
motion carried unanimously.
ADJOURN
Motion was made by Commissioner Nasby and seconded by Commissioner Wachal to adjourn the meeting
at approximately 6:21 p.m. The motion carried unanimously.
