the following chart where you can find the present perfect structure and how it
can be used:
4. It’s time to talk about some experiences we have had in the past. Make groups of
three people and ask your partners about their good and bad experiences. Fill the
chart below using the present perfect structure and share some of those
experiences with the class.

Good experiences Bad experiences

5. Now it is time for you to connect your ideas. In order to do that you need to learn
about some connectors that show effect, for this lesson we have:

Connector of effect Use

As a result: Similar to consequently, as a result is used
to introduce a conclusion or result arising
because of an earlier action or event stated
in preceding statement
As a consequence: As a consequence' is similar to “as a result”,
though less common than, 'as a
result' and 'consequently'. However, as a
consequence differs in that it tends to be
associated with negative results.
For that/this reason: You can use this structure If you say that
something happened or is true for
some reason.

6. Now that you have learned when you use the present perfect tense and some
connectors of effect it is time to write a short text of 1 or 2 paragraphs sharing a
few decisions you have made in life. Did those decisions bring good/bad
experiences? Did those decisions change your life? In what way did they change
your life? How did the decision affect the people that surrounded you?
