For constructing any building or structure the history of land along with
vicinity must be known. I found myself at the plot, which situated far from the
inhabiting area. My problem at the site is to construct a ‘Single Story
Residential House’.

A plot of land is situated on the front side of road which is 12

metres wide running along the length of plot from West to East direction at a
level of 210.24 metre. The level of the plot is 210.14 metre. Sewer line is not
available in the area but roads have municipal drains on both sides where the
water level is likely to raise up to 210.54 metre during heavy rains. Electricity
and water supply, School, Post office and market are available near the city.

The building is so planned so as to meet the various requirements

such as minimum set back, side set back near set back are left according to the
building by laws and also keeping in mind the function utility of each and every
unit. Therefore should be proper cross ventilation in all – possible cases.

The planning should be in such a manner that in summer all

rooms are protected from ultraviolet sun rays and in winter sufficient sunlight
should be available by providing suitable doors and windows. Staircase should
be well planned and approachable from all the sides of the building.

The structure component such as Floor slab, Roof slab,

Foundation, Lintel and Beams should be made of good quality materials.
Mosaic flooring of marble chips is extensively used now a days. Standard
specifications have been followed for providing lawn maintenance. W.C seats,
Septic tanks, Kitchen sinks, Washbasin, Railing for stairs and cement concrete
in foundation. P.V.C pipeline is provided underground to Septic tank and Soak
pit, which is having outlet in the municipal drains, since there is no sewer line
is provided in the area. A septic tank for so 50 users is provided for nursing
home.

Finally all constructions works should be done under the

supervision of experienced Civil Engineer by skilled labours. All requirements
are full filled according to problem.
