Most of you have probably heard by now that Father Swamy was called home to India last Monday due to
his fathers’ very grave condition. He did make it home safely. He will be gone from St. Joseph until May
10, taking his scheduled May vacation at this time instead of in May. Here is a quote from his email:
“ I humbly request you to accompany our family in prayer that God may bless him with enough strength and
patience to accept this bad time. May God's will be done in his life. Thank you so much for your kind
understanding to come home and be with my father during these days.”
Please keep Benedict Nannam and all of Father Swamy’s family in your prayers. Father Farrar is working
with Father Brian to continue our Penance Services, Weekend Masses, Holy Week, and First Communion
as scheduled with only a few minor adjustments. Please join us in prayers for patience, understanding,
and cooperation during this time, especially during this Lenten season of prayer, love, mercy, cleansing of
hearts, renewal of faith, forgiveness, and trust in God.

The 6th grade class would like to invite parish members to help with the last service
project of the year. Our class will be taking donations of food during the Lenten Season
to give to Food for the Poor. The items that are needed most are non-perisable food
products such as; noodle, mac/cheese, and rice cups, pop top cans of ravioli, spaghetti,
pasta sauce, canned fruit, and etc, small boxes of pasta, pudding and fruit cups, shelf
stable milk, cereal, pancake mix made with water, small containers of syrup, and
breakfast bars. Healthy snacks are needed also. We encourage everyone to check the
grocery isles for good tasteing, healthy items that will satisfy a hungry student.
Donations can be placed in the book bags in the back of church. Our class is looking
forward to doing our part to help this service project be successful.

Catholic Relief Services is an international humanitarian organization that seeks to end poverty,
hunger and disease. They are now one of the most trusted relief and development agencies in the
world. They work in 110 countries and reach more than 136 million people.

One in 9 people around the world—more than 800 million people—go hungry every day. CRS knows
that chronic hunger affects health, growth, learning and people’s earnings. That’s why they’re
sowing the seeds of change with projects that combine health care, microfinance and literacy with
sustainable agriculture.
