Use virtual reality simulations for virtual field trips


Includes interactive 360 views and mapping
Can be used with cell phones and the cardboard virtual reality viewers (available on google)

Used to provide immersive lessons where students can write and discuss what they feel, see, and hear
Students can create their own virtual reality experiences

Can be used to deliver other content to provide a blended learning experience for teachers

Using blogging for reflection of practices and idea sharing

How This Could Be Implemented at Banneker:


This could be used for teachers and students. Teachers or departments could have a blogging post site
where teachers describe a strategy or activity they have used. They would discuss their challenges with
implementation and academic success with the students. This allows teachers to create a collaborative
culture and allow teachers to be recognized by their peers. It would also act as a way for teachers to receive
constructive feedback. The blogs can public or private.

Blogs can also be used by students for reflection, sharing, and improving content writing skills.

This session will show teachers an interactive and engaging way to have all students actively participate in
socratic seminars. This session increase the engagement level by adding a back channel for students to use
in the outer circle.

This website offers modules to help students differentiate between primary and secondary sources,
analyzing primary sources, writing thesis statements, evaluating sources, and more.

How This Could Be Implemented at Banneker:


These modules could be used in social studies and ela classrooms to help students hone their research
skills and analytical skills. The setting of the modules is self-paced, which allows for teachers to work with
students when needed.

Overview, Notes & Key Points:


This is a nationwide competition that introduces students to the career path of cyber security.
Students learn and train as they compete. The teacher or coach provides a place for them to practice;
provides snacks for long work hours; and provides assistance for collecting resources. There are practice
rounds and quizzes. Teams that are comprised of ROTC students or all girl teams can compete for free.
There are waivers available for Title I schools.

Its an app through Microsoft Office 365 that makes it easier for teachers to give graded individualized
assignments.

How This Could Be Implemented at Banneker:

Teachers can add this to enhance the use of OneNote and Class Notebooks on Microsoft.
It can also be used to manage the teams so they can share ideas and resources as well as conduct meetings.
