Please be sure to read the back of this memo for information on comparing and tape diagrams. This will help you understand what we are learning in class and will help you assist your child with homework and for the test. Comparing is a difficult concept to understand. Please practice with your child. 2. Make sure you are working on your dinosaur project, finding nonfiction books about your dinosaur, and doing research! Also, to clarify, the project must include an image of the dinosaur made by the child (drawn, created with paper, or made out of clay), not a toy or stuffed animal. Your child can use both if they have them, but must also make one for the project. Projects are due on April 24. 3. For the 4th quarter, the spelling tests will be averaged together for one grade. I will not post each test as a separate participation grade. We now have 20 spelling words each week. The words are getting very tricky and must be practiced daily. Please help your child study the words each day. 4. We have had caterpillars in our classroom as we study life cycles. On Wednesday, they made their chrysalises. It has been so exciting to watch. We hope to have butterflies soon! 5. Please make sure your child is following the dress code from the Student Handbook and on the website.
