KEY DIVERSION ROUTES

The following key diversion routes will be in operation between 6am and 1.30pm on Sunday 14 April 2019 to facilitate the Tour de Brisbane event.
This information is correct at the time of publishing (11 March 2019). Please note that locations and times of diversion routes are subject to change due to operational
requirements. For up-to-date information about road closures and changed traffic conditions, visit www.tourdebrisbane.org/roads.

Western suburbs – Western suburbs inbound diversion route in place between 6am and 10am due to the closure of the Western Freeway, 6am to 10am
inbound Legacy Way, Inner City Bypass (between Coronation Drive and Bowen Bridge Road) and Coronation Drive.

Access to the city, and eastern and northern suburbs via:

• Moggill Road
• Jephson Street
• Croydon Street
• Milton Road
• Clem7 (toll free between 6am and 9.30am)
• AirportlinkM7
Western suburbs – Western suburbs outbound diversion route in place between 6am and 10am due to the closure of the Western Freeway, 6am to 10am
outbound Legacy Way and Coronation Drive.

Access from the city, and eastern and northern suburbs via:
• Milton Road
• Croydon Street
• Jephson Street
• Moggill Road.
• AirportlinkM7
• Clem7
Motorists heading towards the Western Suburbs from the eastern and northern parts of the city, are encouraged to use
Clem7 tunnel, which will be toll free between 6am and 9.30am, and then follow Ipswich Road for the most direct route.

Access from St Lucia to the city, and eastern and northern suburbs via:

• High Street
• Sherwood Road
• Jephson Street
• Croydon Street
• Milton Road.
Right turn restrictions will be in place on Croydon Street and Milton Road. Please follow all signage.

St Lucia – outbound St Lucia outbound diversion route in place between 6am and 8.30am due to the closure of Coronation Drive. 6am to 8.30am

Access to St Lucia from the city, and eastern and northern suburbs via:

• Milton Road
• Croydon Street
• Jephson Street
• Sherwood Road
• High Street.
Right turn restrictions will be in place on Croydon Street and Milton Road. Please follow all signage.

Rouen Road and Frederick Inbound diversion route in place between 6.30am and 9.30am due to the closure of Rouen Road and Frederick Street. 6.30am to

Access from Bardon to the city and eastern suburbs via:

Inner City Bypass – Westbound diversion route in place between 6am and 10am due to the closure of the Inner City Bypass. 6am to 10am

• Kingsford Smith Drive

• Breakfast Creek Road
• Ann Street
• Roma Street
• Upper Roma Street
• Milton Road
• Croydon Street
• Jephson Street

North Quay Diversion route will be in place between 6am and 8.40am due to the closure of North Quay. 6am to 8:40am

All traffic travelling south on North Quay beyond Tank Street will be directed onto Turbot Street.

Riverside Expressway – Northbound diversion route will be in place between 6am and 8.40am due to the closure of Riverside Expressway. 6am to 8:40am
northbound
All traffic travelling north on the Riverside Expressway beyond Stanley Street will be directed onto Turbot Street.

Traffic wishing to continue north and west, should turn left from Turbot Street into George Street and continue along
Roma Street and Upper Roma Streets.

Riverside Expressway – Southbound diversion route will be in place between 6am and 8.40am due to the closure of Riverside Expressway. 6am to 8:40am
southbound
All traffic wishing to travel south on the Riverside Expressway will need to travel via North Quay and enter the Riverside
Expressway at the Tank Street on ramp.

All Riverside Expressway ramps accessing the Brisbane CBD (e.g. Elizabeth Street and Margaret Street) will be closed for
the duration and all traffic on the Riverside Expressway will be continued south across the Captain Cook Bridge.

South Brisbane – South Brisbane eastbound diversion route will be in place between 6am and 8.30am due to the closure of Grey Street, 6am and 8.30am
eastbound Merivale Street and Vulture Street.

All traffic travelling south on Merivale Street will be diverted onto Ernest Street, Gladstone Road and Annerley Road.

Traffic wishing to travel east should turn into Cornwall Street from Annerley Road.

South Brisbane – South Brisbane southbound diversion route will be in place between 6am and 8.30am due to the closure of Grey Street, 6am and 8.30am
southbound Merivale Street and Vulture Street.

All traffic travelling south on Merivale Street will be diverted onto Ernest Street, Gladstone Road and Annerley Road.

Traffic wishing to travel south, should continue along Annerley Road and turn right into Ipswich Road.

South Brisbane – South Brisbane northbound diversion route will be in place between 6am and 1.30am due to the closure of the Go 6am and 1.30pm
northbound Between Bridge and Grey Street.

Traffic travelling west on Vulture Street will need to travel via Cordelia Street and Peel Street to access the William Jolly
Bridge and areas north.

Montague Road – Montague Road northbound diversion route will be in place between 6am and 10am due to the closure of the Go 6am and 10am
northbound Between Bridge.

All traffic travelling north on Montague Road beyond Cordelia Street will be diverted onto Merivale Street.

Deakin Street and Cairns Deakin Street and Cairns Street southbound diversion route will be in place between 6am and 8.30am due to the closure 6am and 8.30am
Street –southbound of Shafston Avenue.

All traffic exiting from Deakin Street at Shafston Avenue will be diverted south toward O’Connell Street.

Shafston Avenue – Northbound diversion route will be in place between 6am and 8.30am due to the closure of Shafston Avenue. 6am and 8.30am
northbound
Traffic travelling north on Shafston Avenue, north of the CLEM7 tunnel entry, will be required to undertake a U-Turn or
turn right at the O’Connell Street intersection.

Main Street – northbound Northbound diversion route will be in place between 6am and 8.30am due to the closure of Main Street and the Story 6am and 8.30am
Bridge.

Traffic travelling north on Main Street, north of the Bell Street intersection, will be required to undertake a U-Turn or
turn right at the Pearson Street intersection.

Miles Platting Road – Eastbound diversion route will be in place between 7.30am and 12.30pm due to the closure of Miles Platting Road. 7.30am and
eastbound 12.30pm
Traffic travelling east on Miles Platting Road will be diverted north onto the Gateway Motorway.

Traffic wishing to travel east of the Gateway Motorway should exit the Gateway Motorway at the Mount Gravatt
Capalaba Road exit.

Gateway Motorway to Miles Platting Road closures will be in operation between 7.30am and 12.30pm on Sunday 14 April 2019. 7.30am and
Miles Platting Road – 12.30pm
Pedestrian and cyclist access via footpaths will be maintained during the road closures.

Gateway Motorway southbound on and off ramps at Miles Platting Road will also be closed.

Traffic exiting the Gateway Motorway northbound onto Miles Platting Road will be diverted westbound towards Logan
Road.

All eastbound traffic on Miles Platting Road from Logan Road will be diverted onto the Gateway Motorway northbound.

Mount Cotton Road – Westbound diversion route will be in place between 7.45am and 12.15pm due to the closure of Mount Cotton Road. 7.45am and
westbound 12.15pm
Traffic travelling west on Broadwater Road will be diverted north onto Mount Cotton Road. Traffic is to travel west via
Moreton Bay Road and Mount Gravatt Capalaba Road.

Two-way traffic movements will be permitted under police control on Mount Cotton Road between the Avalon Road and
Broadwater Road roundabouts. Please follow signage and police direction.

Traffic travelling east on Mount Gravatt Capalaba Road will be diverted north at the intersection with Mount Cotton
Road. Traffic should continue east via Moreton Bay Road onto Mount Cotton Road.

Two-way traffic will be permitted under police control on Mount Cotton Road between the Broadwater Road and Avalon
Road roundabouts. Please follow signage and police direction.
