Unit 5

Teacher: Before we continue our lesson, I want to ask you “Do you remember what
we learned in our previous meeting?”

Students: Yes. We learned about the theories of solar system formation.

Teacher: You are right. Well, how many theories did we learn?

Students: There are seven theories.

Teacher: who wants to mention three of them? You can raise your hand and directly
answer the question.

Lisbet: (Raise her hand) Nebula, Tidal, and Planetasimal theories.

Teacher: Good. Next, who wants to mention the rest?

giri: (Raise his hand) Twin star, Big Bang, Steady-state, and Proto Planet theories.

Teacher: Excellent. Well, today we are going to learn about planets. There will be
group discussion later on, and I want you to write the report of your group discussion
near the end of the lesson. Are you ready to explore all planets in our solar system?

Students: Yessss

Unit 6

Teacher: Great. Bytheway, do you bring the poster that I asked you to make?

Student : Yes, ma’am.

Teacher: Good. Well we need sticky tape. Do you bring it too?

Mr. Chairman: yes

Teacher: could you stick them up here.

Mr. Chairman: OK

Teacher: Thanks. Can you all see it?

Students: yes.

Teacher: Take a good look at the poster. How many planets are there in our solar
system?
Students : Eight.

Teacher: What are they?

Students: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune.

Teacher: Wati, which one is the closest to the sun?

Fara: Mercury.

Teacher: Jono, please mention the farthest.

Lin: Neptune.

Unit 7

Teacher: Great. Well, in this lesson we are going to discuss the characteristics of each
planet. Before that, I’ll show you an interesting documentary videos about this topic.
(Turn on the projector and the speaker). The projector doesn’t seem to work. Mr.
Chairman. Could you please take another projector in the office?

Chairman: Ok, ma’am. (take another projector in the office, bring it to the class, and
turn it on)

Teacher: Thanks goodness! It’s working. Thanks Mr. Chairman. But before we watch
the video, I think the audio is not loud enough. I’ll just turn it up a bit (set the
speaker). Done! Now, please pay attention to the documentary video.

(Teacher and students watching the video together).

Teacher: Did you understand?

Students: Yes

Some students: Not yet, ma’am. Would you like to repeat again?

Teacher: Okay. We’ll go back and watch it again, ready?

Students: Yes.
Teacher: Jeni, Tell me about what you get from the video.

Jeni: There are two kinds of planet, Terrestrial and Jovian planet.
Terrestrial planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, and the Jovian
planets are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.

Teacher : Yes, a good answer. But a bit louder please.

Jeni: There are two kinds of planet, Terrestrial and Jovian planet.
Terrestrial planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, and the Jovian
planets are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.

Teacher: Well done, Jeni. It’s your turn, Deni. How about you?

Deni: Based on the video, the biggest planet is Jupiter and the
smallest planet is Mercury. The only planet where the life exist in it is
earth. There are two gas giant planets, they are jupiter and saturn.
Uranus and Neptune are Ice giant planet.

Teacher: Great explanation. Now, I want you to create eight groups.

Each group should discuss about the characteristic of one planet.
Each representative of group can go to the front and take the lottery
to decide what planet you are going to discuss.
