INTRODUCING RAY MERCER


2019 ARTIST IN RESIDENCE FOR DANCE
We are excited to announce that professional choreographer
and Omaha-native, Ray Mercer will be Omaha Performing
Arts’ first-ever Artist in Residence.

Ray is in his 17th year of performing with the Tony Award®-


winning cast of Disney’s THE LION KING on Broadway and is
Resident Choreographer for the Ailey/Fordham BFA Program.

Over the next two years, Ray will bring several dance
education opportunities to the Omaha community.

Last month Ray reached more than 200 middle school students with plans to return this
May to lead dance master classes and deepen Omaha Performing Arts’ engagement
with the dance community.

Ray will also return in June to choreograph the 6th annual Nebraska High School Theater
Academy showcase. Please join us in welcoming Ray!
