SYNOPSIS

Title : Mess Management System

Introduction :
The purpose of this application is to automate the hostel mess functionality
and provide both user and admin a smart platform to interact with each other.
User can use the functionalities of the mess such as accessing his account
information, applying for leave and checking the menu. For this, User has to
register and with the account credentials he can login the account and get
access to the database.
On the other hand, the admin can log on and check inventory details and also
get to know the number of guests visiting the mess that day. This application
will provide ease to both admin and user.
Objective :
 The mess management system helps the user to access all the
functionalities of the mess without having to visit mess physically and
apply for leave.
 It enables the admin to view the inventory and access guest details.
 Using the information provided by all the users the admin can take
decisions and the inventory for the mess can be managed.

Front end Java, SQL, Java AWT

Operating System Windows 7(onwards)

Modules :
1. Students: To save details of all students like Student_id, student_name,
Hostel_name, deptt_code, login_id,PIN.
2. Admin: To save the details of the admin basically who is manager, like
Emp_id, Emp_name, login_id, PIN
3. Menu: To save the menu for breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner for all
the seven days in a week.
4. Reduction : To calculate the amount that has to be credited to student’s
account if he has not taken the food on mentioned date he has
applied for.
5. Report : Report is for both the User and the Admin but in different
aspects. Like, for user report is meant to be the list of meals he
has taken in the month. Whereas, for admin it is inventory details
of the whole mess for a month.
