The Article “Delete Freebies” published in the TOI newspaper perfectly uncovers MP’s and MLA’s help
themselves to tax payer’s money and what Supreme Court is doing for tackling this situation.

The Article is purely based on the past events and facts which are brought in light by RTI filed in 2014.

I couldn’t agree more with the Author that the Government should create a professional and transparent
mechanism for determining salaries and allowances which should be linked with the productivity of the
parliamentarian. Also, the Emoluments Commission should be Independent, so that these
Parliamentarian cannot play Ducks and Drakes with the Tax Payers money as author said.
