Alphabet Sorting Activity
Included in the Pack:
26 letter mats (pp. 3-28)
26 letter sorting sheets with 2 on each page (pp. 29-41)

Purpose:
To help kids recognize letters in different fonts.

Instructions:
• Pick the letter mat you’d like your child to do. Print it and the
letter sorting sheet that corresponds.
• Ask the child to cut out the letters and glue them to the mat.
• Talk about how different the letters can look. Use the words
“uppercase” and “lowercase” when discussing.

Variation:
Kids who are ready can sort letters on two or three different mats at
one time. The one thing I would caution is to make sure you pick letters
that are different visually to avoid confusion for the child, such as Cc,
Bb, and Zz.
