1.4 Loads on the Structure

Structural Analysis is done utilizing profiles of extruded Aluminum sections and 6mm+1.52mm+6mm thick
Laminated glass for panel of 1x5.95 sqm and a Design wind pressure of 1.5 Kpa.
This load is considered based on the specification document provided. Dead load of the ACP panel
and the frame is considered as a self-load

The maximum permissible deflection of the Aluminum Vertical members is taken as Span /175 or 19 mm
for Transom L/300 or 3mm mm and the vertical dead load deflection for transom is span/300 or 3mm
whichever is less as per tender document, and the permissible glass deflection is taken
as Span/90 or 19mm for SGU and for DGU span/90 or 19 mm, As per specification document.

Glass panels are designed to resist the applicable wind forces and to ensure deflection within
tolerable limits. Glass Panels are designed assuming simply supported on all four edges.

Vertical members are designed to resist entire wind load on the module and are analyzed as a
Continuous supported beam of overall length of 5495 mm. The loading on the vertical member is taken as
rectangular loading & on the Horizontal member as Triangular loading.

Stability calculations for the structural sealant for the unitized system panel of size 1.0m x 1.475m

Following are the loading details for the calculation of sealant

Width of the glass (w) = 1000 mm

Height of the glass (h) = 1475 mm
The minimum fundamental dimensions for the sealant (bite), (Hmc) = 6 mm
Glue line thickness considered for the analysis (e ) = 6 mm

The verifications of the sealant are carried out according to the indications in order to verify the minimum
sealant joint thickness and minimum stress in sealant.

Characteristics of the Structural Sealant

= 1400 Mpa
= 138 Mpa
Allowable designed shear without rotation (Ta) = 90 Mpa
Design wind pressure considered for the analysis = 1.5 kpa

Check for Sealant bite for the applied loads

Minimum Silicon Bite Reqd = Hmc = 0.5 x Shortspan length in mm X Wind load in Kpa / Sealany Strength in Mpa
Hmc = (0.5X1000X1.5)/138 = 5.43 mm

Seleant bite provided for the glazing is 6 mm, which is > 5.43 mm

A Silicon bite of 10 mm has to be provided which is safe.

Check for Sealant Thickness for the applied loads

Minimum Sealant thickness = e = V x Ey /3 x Ta
V (constant value) = 1.1
Minimum sealant thickness e = (1.1 x 1400)/ (3 x 90) = = 5.70 mm
There for the minimum sealant / glue thickness should be 6 mm
Hence Provide sealant thickness of 6 mm for the glazing

Comments: Tension displacements are valid with half of the required installation torque moment for uncracked concrete! Shear displacements
are valid without friction between the concrete and the anchor plate! The gap due to the drilled hole and clearance hole tolerances are not
included in this calculation!

The acceptable anchor displacements depend on the fastened construction and must be defined by the designer!

Input data and results must be checked for agreement with the existing conditions and for plausibility!

7 Warnings
The anchor design methods in PROFIS Anchor require rigid anchor plates per current regulations (ETAG 001/Annex C, EOTA TR029, etc.).
This means load re-distribution on the anchors due to elastic deformations of the anchor plate are not considered - the anchor plate is
assumed to be sufficiently stiff, in order not to be deformed when subjected to the design loading. PROFIS Anchor calculates the minimum
required anchor plate thickness with FEM to limit the stress of the anchor plate based on the assumptions explained above. The proof if the
rigid base plate assumption is valid is not carried out by PROFIS Anchor. Input data and results must be checked for agreement with the
existing conditions and for plausibility!
Checking the transfer of loads into the base material is required in accordance with ETAG 001, Annex C(2010)Section 7! The software
considers that the grout is installed under the anchor plate without creating air voids and before application of the loads.
The design is only valid if the clearance hole in the fixture is not larger than the value given in Table 4.1 of ETAG 001, Annex C! For larger
diameters of the clearance hole see Chapter 1.1. of ETAG 001, Annex C!
The accessory list in this report is for the information of the user only. In any case, the instructions for use provided with the product have to
be followed to ensure a proper installation.

Fastening meets the design criteria!

5 Displacements (highest loaded anchor)

Short term loading:
NSk = 2.130 [kN] N = 0.140 [mm]
VSk = 0.000 [kN] V = 0.000 [mm]
NV = 0.140 [mm]
Long term loading:
NSk = 2.130 [kN] N = 0.279 [mm]
VSk = 0.000 [kN] V = 0.000 [mm]
NV = 0.279 [mm]

Comments: Tension displacements are valid with half of the required installation torque moment for uncracked concrete! Shear displacements
are valid without friction between the concrete and the anchor plate! The gap due to the drilled hole and clearance hole tolerances are not
included in this calculation!

The acceptable anchor displacements depend on the fastened construction and must be defined by the designer!

6 Warnings
