ACTIVITY COMPLETION REPORT

NAME OF ACTIVITY: SCHOOL-BASED INSET

DATE: October 24-26, 2017

VENUE: INHS Function Hall

PARTICIPANTS: School principal, faculty and staff

DESCRIPTION: To promote the continuous improvement of the total professional staff of


the school system and the need to develop higher order thinking and
creative approaches to learning and teaching.

OBJECTIVES:
1. To enhance teaching proficiency in handling and teaching diverse learners
using varied strategies.
2. To gain more content knowledge and skills in their field of specialization.
3. To acquire methodologies and techniques in classroom management.

HIGHLIGHTS:
The said training talked about how students learn, how the brain learns, and how
learning can be promoted and maximized. It also updates teachers’ knowledge in
curriculum and planning, test construction, test item analysis, classroom management,
learning styles and guidance and counseling. The speakers provided enough information
to the topic assigned to them, and the participants actively responded to the activities
after every topic.

LIST OF ISSUES FOR RESOLUTIONS


1. Some participants had a hard time in utilizing automated test item analysis.
2. Some theories are very challenging to implement given the attitude of the learners
towards learning.
PARTICIPANTS’ FEEDBACK
The training is very helpful. The participants gain new knowledge in curriculum and
planning, test construction, test item analysis, classroom management, learning styles
and guidance and counseling that can be applied in the classroom setting.

DESIGN OF THE EVENT


The activity was headed by the staff development team. The INSET is conducted
every semestral break or summer vacation to avoid interruption of classes.

AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION
The participants actively take part in the entire training. They have also shared
their thoughts and opinions in a certain issue.
