Autumn Semester Degree Completion Date in or After 2019

This notification is to inform you of the university’s new policy regarding the degree completion date in
the autumn semester in or after the 2019 academic year.

Notification

1. Degree Completion Date in the Autumn Semester

In principle, the official degree completion date in the autumn semester will be on Friday, one week prior
to the enrollment date.

Enrollment Date: September 21 (Fri)

Autumn 2019 Degree Completion Date: September 13 (Fri)

Enrollment Date: September 20 (Fri)

2. Special Treatment for September-entry Students Enrolled in or Prior to AY 2018

If the change in the degree completion date adversely affects your advancement to another institution or
gaining employment, etc. after graduation, you may make a request for an “August Completion” using the
procedures detailed below and complete the program according to the previous graduation schedule, on
August 31.
Please obtain a “Request for August Completion” form at the PEAK/GPEAK Section and submit the
completed form to the PEAK/GPEAK Section before or during the submission period for the Title of Master’s
Thesis/Doctoral Dissertation Form. Please note that you must obtain the personal seals of your supervisor,
the head of your department, and the head of your program prior to submission.

3. Tuition Fee
September-entry students enrolled in AY 2018 or earlier who will graduate in September according to the
new graduation schedule will not be charged a tuition fee for the month of September in the year that they
are scheduled to graduate.
