PREFACE

SUDHA DAIRY PROJECT covers the working environment of a single


unit of the dairy project. It mainly aims at knowing the work
specifications of workers, their working conditions, infrastructure of
work place, and the fulfilment of basic essential amenities.

We have covered the Collection Centre, Filtration Centre, Chilling


Plant, Pasteurizing Plant, Packaging Plant, Storage System along with
Ghee Processing Plant, Butter Processing Plant under this project.
Working conditions, including work hours, ergonomics of furniture
and rest allowances etc. have been deeply viewed and documented.

DAIRY.

ORGANISATION DETAILS:

HISTORY:
The organization was started in year 1st October, 1981 through the
National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). NDDB handed over the
arrangements of Patna Dairy Project (PDP) to VPDUSS with effect
from 1st July, 1988. The daily average procurement of milk is about 3,
89,460 liters during 2017-2018 and is expected to reach 4.8 lakhs liters
of milk per day in commencing year.

WORK CULTURE:
About 7,000 workers are employed in the plant in production and
around 100 as quality and safety officers. The organization not only
looks after the workers living conditions but also after the animals such
as cattle as well as the farmers economic conditions, etc. at the place
where they procure their raw materials.
