Turn the power switch to ON (n° 1 Fig.1 Page 2) .
- Wait for the Programming Screen to appear after the DOS start up messages. The following data will be displayed:
PROG: the name of the saved program (no name is assigned before a save).
EUROPUNCH VER. 1.XX: the name and version of the software.
S/N...........: the SERIAL NUMBER of the machine.
The white area on the screen identifies the programmed sheet Fig.3 Page 4.
The inner rectangles indicate the clamps on the sheet.
The outer rectangles indicate the clamp safety zone ("X" = 175mm - "Y" = 95mm for each clamp)
("X" = 175mm - "Y" = 115mm for STRIPPIT mount)
("X" = 6.878" - "Y" = 3.734" for each clamp)
("X" = 6.878" - "Y" = 4.520" for STRIPPIT mount)
The Floppy disks used in the console must for no reason contain viruses. A virus can damage the operating
system and delete all maching sequence previously memorised.
All consoles and relevant programmes are tested during installation at EUROMAC using an ANTIVIRUS
programme. We therefore ensure that all viruses are remove before shipping the console.
The programme used for this operation is "D. Solomon Toolkit". We highly recommended you to purchase
this programme or a similar one to keep a constant check on the console and floppy disks.

1.6.6 SUB
- The term "SUB" refers to saved machining functions which can be grouped together in a single program.
Suppose that we must machine a sheet with dimensions X = 250; Y = 250; thickness = 1.5 mm.
We wish to create a rectangle with micro-joints, that is F5 + SPECIAL FUNCTION, with dimensions X=150 and
Y=100, and at the centre of the rectangle we wish to cut a hole.
Once the program has been entered, we save it as described above.
We set up a new program on the screen, with a sheet sufficiently large to machine a certain number of pieces of the
above type..
We press F14 to access the functions desired, fill in the dialogue and confirm with ENTER.
A new screen will appear which prompts us for the type of function, we select "SUB" with the arrow keys and press
ENTER.
At the centre of the screen a window will open which prompts for the name of the SUBROUTINE; we now select
SCROLL with the down arrow key and confirm with ENTER.
We search for the saved function, select the box marked "ENTER" and confirm by pressing ENTER.
The chosen program will appear on the SUBROUTINE line.
We highlight this line with the up arrow and confirm with ENTER.

- The programming console is equipped with a hard disk drive, DRIVE "C" and a 3 ½" floppy disk drive,
DRIVE "A" on the RH side of the console ( Fig. 3 Page 6 ).

F - MAXIMUN EXIT FROM RECTANGLE NOTCHES this parameter indicates the dimensions
(HORIZONTAL and VERTICAL) in mm of rectangular, double and triple notches relative to the corners of the
sheet.
N.B: If the notches have been programmed with OFF.SET X or Y <>0 (e.g: F6 -NOTCHING + MENU + F1), set
this parameter to 0, otherwise the sum of the two settings will be machined during program execution.
G - REMOVE SHEET FOR CHANGING TOOL (1= YES / 0 = NO): This option is of use when
machining sheets which might cover the die-holder during tool changeover.
-If set to "0 = NO" the Y-axis movew to its maximum travel before the programmed tool changeover.
-If set to "1 = YES", the machine first moves the sheet to the loading position; the operator must manually remove
the sheet, change the tool and reload the sheet before machining can proceed. Note that the machine stops the
clamps in the sheet loading position to provide a precise reference for the reloading operation.
H - WORKING SEQUENCE LINE/GRID (0/1/2): This parameter enables the sequence of line or grid
execution to be modified.
I - CHANGE SHEET (1) CHANGE PUNCH (0) : this parameter defines whether a punch (standard operation)
or sheet should be changed after the number of work sequences defined in the NUMBER OF PIECES TO EXECUTE
item has been reached.
N.B.: this option is particularly useful when the machine is in SINGLE PUNCH mode.
L - NUMBER OF PIECES TO RUN: this parameter acts in relation to the next parameter and defines after how
many pieces a PIECE or PUNCH is changed.
N.B.: if this parameter is zero, the machine will operate in standard mode irrespective of the previous parameter’s
setting, i.e. a complete work sequence with the relevant punch changes (if there are any before a sheet is changed) is
executed.
2.0.11 IMPORT NC
- This function enables code generated by CAM (JETCAM) system to be imported. Select with the up and down
arrows, confirm with ENTER to access a dialogue with the same options as F20 -DISK OPERATIONS.
-This enables programmes transmitted via serial line to be received by means of COM2; to select this item, use the up and
down arrow keys and confirm with ENTER.
The machine is now ready to automatically receive a programme.

A - ENABLE INSERT SQUARE (1 = YES, 0 = NO): enables use of the square, hence allows operation of
the machine in semiautomatic with axis stops.
N.B: After starting the machining cycle by pressing the START CYCLE (n°13 Fig. 2 Page 3), hold the sheet against the
stop by hand.
35
CX LINE
GB
B - "X" OFFSET WITH INSERT SQUARE: indicates the new position of 0 on the X-axis after the square
has been fitted (see the preceding figure): the Offset in "X" is equal to the 0 of the locating pin and hence in line with
the X stop of the square.
C - "Y" OFFSET WITH INSERT SQUARE: indicates the new position of 0 on the Y-axis after the square
has been fitted (see the preceding figure): the Offset in "Y" is equal to 90 mm, so that the machine calculates an extra
90 mm along the Y-axis.
D - ENABLE SHEET LOADING (0 = NO, 1 = YES): selects whether to position the axes for sheet
loading before machining (1=YES), or whether the axes must position themselves directly for the first punch stroke
(0=NO).
E - GAGE MACHINE: use pushing (0 = NO, 1 = YES), selects whether the axes push against the sheet
(1=YES), or move away from the sheet (0 = NO).
F - GAGE MACHINE: Y dimension of X gage, when punching near to the square it is best to insert a layer of
sheet to protect it against punch strokes on the X stop.
The Y value asked for enables the machine to determine automatically (given the value itself and the size of the tool)
whether a strip of sheet must be added between the X stop and the sheet being machined.
G - GAGE MACHINE: X dimension of additional strip, This parameter acts in combination with parameter
F -GAGE MACHINE: Y dimension of X gage explained above.
Enter the X dimension of the strip to be inserted as protection for the square axis.
The machine will ask for the STRIP during machining and at the end of machining will ask for it to be removed.
H - STOPS: slow mode area "X", indicates the size in mm or inches of the area along the X-axis in which the
axes will move more slowly ( ata a speed set at factory testing) for greater operator safety.
If the value is set to -100 there is no safety area; if instead (for example) it is set to 100 the X-axis will slow down
when it reaches this position.
I - STOPS: slow mode area "Y", indicates the size in mm or inches of the area along the Y-axis in which the
axes will move more slowly ( ata a speed set at factory testing) for greater operator safety.
If the value is set to -100 there is no safety area; if instead (for example) it is set to 100 the Y-axis will slow down
when it reaches this position.
N.B.: This command only takes effect when "ENABLE INSERT SQUARE" has been set to (1 = YES).

The lower the value the slower the speed/acceleration of
the axes.
- X AXIS RESET QUOTE : (0.01 mm) the distance of the LH edge of the clamp bar (not including the
terminal clamp block) from the RH edge of the locating pin in sheet loading
position. This distance must be 13.7 mm.
If the measured distance is actually greater (e.g: 18.7 mm) proceed as
follows:
measured error +5 mm (18.7 - 13.7) (that is 500 x 0.01 mm).
Displayed value 119530 - measured error 500 = 119030 (new value to enter
in "X-axis reset quote").
- Y AXIS RESET QUOTE : (0.01 mm) the distance along the Y-axis between the centre of the punch and
the clamp stops. To check this value punch a single hole F1 (e.g: X=100;
Y=100) with punch of known size (e.g: 20X20) and measure the distance
between the top edge of the sheet and the top edge of the hole (the exact
value should be 90 mm).
- REFERENCE PIN X The distance between the RH side of the locating pin against which the sheet rests, and
POSITION (mm) : the centre of the punch.
To check this value punch a single hole F1 (e.g: X=100; Y=100) with punch of known
size (e.g: 20X20) and measure the distance between the LH edge of the sheet and the
LH edge of the hole (the exact value should be 90 mm).
Suppose the value measured is incorrect (88.8 mm); proceed as follows:
measured error -1.2mm (88.8 - 90)(this value must be in mm).
Displayed value 1189.7 + measured error -1.2 = 1188.5 (new value to enter in "Reference
pin X position").
This parameter can be set to correct errors in the X-axis.
N.B:If the measured error is POSITIVE it must be ADDED to the displayed value, if
NEGATIVE it must be SUBTRACTED from the displayed value.
