In Lawrence Kohlberg’s morality theory, I found myself to be at the mid-level of moral

reasoning which is conventional level. This is where morality is determined by the rules and
social conventions that are explicitly agreed upon by a group. These rules and customs is need to
function in order to serve the best interest of the group majority, while simultaneously providing
a structure that maintains social order and limits discord among group members.

If you ask me, I think I’m in the stage of Law and Social order orientation where morality
is determined by what is best for the majority of people. I’m currently in the stage where I
understand and accept that these groups of people have benefits in social order that will result
unity and harmony in relationship of the group to the society. As a Student or as a common
citizen, I understand that principles, rules, and orders are implemented to the society for the best
interest of everyone and for the sake of continuing of the peace and harmony among the people.

In our Country and Government, We are the one who choose our leaders and us believe
that they will leads to better more future. We give them the power to be in the position of having
the authority to be our leaders. Thus, they will of course put rules, laws and orders for the sake of
maintaining the basic rights of the people and to act as the guidelines of our actions, to act in the
right things and be an individual with a non-discrimination perspective. In the observation of my
actions as of till now, I believe that my actions fall to the stage of 4 as I take actions in following
the rules and laws. I believe I’m not yet in the stage of 5 and 6 as there are certain conditions that
I believe I do not yet be qualified to.
