Procedure for dismantling/retrofitting:

1) The subsidiary/secondary beams which are deflected/displaced /bent/welding disturbed/etc

will have to be temporarily supported from floor below. In this case, first of all, all concerned
secondary beams will have to be welded to main beam, if disturbed. Wherever required, tie
beams at right angle have to be provided between two secondary beams. This will restore
the secondary beams along with deck sheet. After this is restored, concrete above the deck
slab needs to be dismantled stage by stage starting from top floor.
2) Then we have to dismantle the secondary beams which are excessively distorted. Then
remove the deck sheet and clear/remove the deflected floor.
3) Follow similar procedure for different areas at other floor levels.
4) Side by Side keep ready new secondary beams duly fabricated as per design wherever
possible. Also straighten old deflected beams so that they can be reused to erect old
members in position.
5) Procure extra material side by side for secondary beams , temporary tie beams, deck sheet /
RCC slab/ Grating/ Chequered plate, etc
6) To plan extra fire escape staircase at two ends of every floor and construct it as per the
design.
