Give each group a set of 10 pictures showing ½ and ¼ part of a whole.
Tell them to sort the pictures according to what it represents, ½ or ¼.
Use FISHBONE in sorting the pictures.

1/2
1/4
Each member of the group will take one picture and pin it to its corresponding fraction.
The first group do the task faster and no mistake wins.

E.Discussing new concepts and practicing (Individual Activity)

new skills #2 (Give each pupil an activity card.)

Encircle the picture that represents ½ and box those represent ¼.

F. Developing Mastery (Group Activity)

(Give each group materials to be used.)
Star-shaped Paper
Circle-shaped Paper
Triangle-shaped Paper
Rectangle-shaped Paper
Oval-shaped Paper

Instruction: Using scissor, cut the:

Star-shaped Paper in a fraction of 1/2
Circle-shaped Paper in a fraction of 1/2
Triangle-shaped Paper in a fraction of 1/4
Rectangle-shaped Paper in a fraction of 1/2
Oval-shaped Paper in a fraction of 1/4
