TASK ONE

Our Goal:

In recent year, the educational system in our country has been based on teacher-centered.
Especially, students want to understand what exactly the science lessons mean in real life, so we as
a future teacher should show their students where we use these scientific methods, what the
scientific rules effect human’s life and why the physics’ rules are important for humanity. In order
to answer to these question as a teacher, we should command our students to build or simulate
any invention which are suitable on our curriculum. Our students can do the simulation or building
while using their creativity and technology together. In this way, we probably achieve that students
can recognize what the physics rules is useful in real life easily.
TASK TWO:

Lesson Plan 1
Curriculum Standard:
Grade Level: 11th grade
Objectives:

Students will be able to:

1. Define simple machine in their own words.


2. Outline the basics of a simple machine.
3. Compare the types of these machine
4. Create examples of simple machines in Daily-life problems.

Technology Tools:

Buble.us, web search, animated games and videos.

Activities:

1. Students think about simple machines individually and they uses web search and
visually aids to understand the concepts of simple machines.
2. They group with 3 or 4 peers and they discuss with their group members by using
Buble.us
3. They reach a conclusion after brainstorming.
4. Each group member gives Daily-life examples.
5. They express their knowledge about the topic by using animated games.

Potential Challenges:

Students’ ideas can be superficial and their daily-life examples cannot be sufficient.
Therefore, teacher should observe the students. S/he should check their ideas and examples
and give feedback about the topic.

Lesson Plan 2

Curriculum Standard:
Grade Level: 11th grade
Objectives:

Students will be able to:

1. Determine the concept of simple machine.


2. Differentiate between simple machines according to their functions.
3. Understand the uses of these machines and give examples.
4. Create a simple machine including least two concept ideas.
5. Explain the operation principles of their machines.

Technology Tools:

Visual materials, YouTube and animated games and videos.

Activities:

1. Students understand the principles of simple machines.


2. They evaluate the functions of these machines.
3. They group with 4 or 5 people and create a simple machine.
4. This machine must include at least two different simple machines.
5. Students determine the profit of their machines and discuss with other groups.

Potential Challenges:

The oppotunities of schools to make simple machines cannot be sufficient. Also, this activity
is time-consuming, so most of teachers cannot want to apply this activity.

TASK THREE

PHYSICS LESSON PLAN

Activity Name: Build Machine But Simple

Grade: 11th

Subject: Simple Machine

Technology tools: Bubbl.us, YouTube, Stormboard.

Procedure

1) Give students examples of simple machine which are used by almost all country such as
excavator. Give students basic information about simple machines during the lesson.

2) Ask students what they know about how that machines work. Divide the class into some
groups which include 5 students and then, do students mind map according to what they
know about simple machines via Bubbl.us. Teacher can achieve that their students can
brainstorm with peers. Brainstorming builds fluency.

3) Ask students what they use another simple machine instead of using that examples. Teacher
says that students cannot change the aim of that example’s machine. In this way, students
can recognize different view of options according to work of simple machine. Teacher can do
that students are flexible.

4) Ask each group of students how they can use simple machine in order to be easy with daily
life problem. Create construction while using simple machines. Then, develop an idea with
group members while brainstorming thanks to Stormboard. Thanks to Stormboard, generate
more ideas, prioritize and organize to make their meetings, brainstorms and projects more
creative and effective. No materials restriction when creating machine. On the other hand,
teachers’aids are not so much because students should develop their own groups ideas and
create them. Teacher will stay out of the group activities. However, s/he will check students’
process because of security information. To avoid the risk of unpredictable conditions,
teachers’ cautions are so important.

5) Take a video while creating construction with using simple machine. Give information in the
video about what the aim of construction are, how they use the simple machines in order to
create construction, what they use materials and what they do in order to achieve the goal
of construction. Share the video on YouTube.

6) Get a representative from each group. Students can compare their simple machines, and
each group can choose the most efficient simple machine except their own machines.
Therefore, they will have a chance to see all projects and they will compare the process of
machines.
