H. B. Fuller and the Street Children of Central America

Q: 1

Ans: My point of view, H.B Fuller is responsible for the addiction of street children to its resistol
products. Because in 1960 another company manufacture the same product just for shoe
manufacturer, leather, workers, carpenters, furniture makers, and small repair shoe. And the
company already have done some product test and find out the result this product is harmful for
human life. But H.B fuller company CEO again manufacture the product with toluene.
Social conditions were not only responsible for misuse of those products but other parties
involved in it like distributers and governments and company etc. I think parent company was
responsible for the action of subsidiaries because they have some subsidiaries companies which
misuse their authority. At once they started supply only to big purchaser but still that issue
happened. So at the end they closed their sale of glue but still some subsidiaries making the
product and offered for sale.

So government, distributers, economic and social conditions were responsible for these injuries
and misuse of product.

Q.2: In your judgment did H. B. Fuller conduct itself in a morally appropriate manner?
Explain your answer

Ans: yes company clears himself in a morally appropriate manner because they tried everything
which they can like offer in large quantity, provide information related to use, close supply to
retailers and at the end they even closed the sale of glue. Company even increased the prices by
thirty percent which means unaffordable for the children. But still how children have approach to
that product.

So it all depends on children and their parents how they use the product.

Q.3: What, if anything, should the company have done that it did not do?

Ans. I think company just selling their product. They didn’t wrong anything. It depends on
people how they use their product. They even told to people that it was harmful for them and
don’t sniff them. They also worked for the social welfare of people as much as they can. They
even introduced oil which reduced the effect of glue.

They took all steps to protect children’s from glue effects. They were also playing an important
role in social welfare of people.
